Let's just say we disagree. I have more faith in people than that. The Jack Whitakkers of the world are the minority, and I have personally posted a ton of stories about people who do tremendous good with their huge wins. I would not look to limit the abilities that I could harness by eliminating 95% of my jackpot win as you suggest.

Most are going to keep as much as they can and maybe help family members and give a small portion to charity...even if I only kept $10 Million out of the take home amount of $280 Million, I can still live a good life and start a business...etc.MP

MetroPlex:Having that much money is not a measure of need. Getting a certain amount of money based on need is something best left to socialist societies.That much money brings the ability to do a tremendous amount of good. You could certainly give some money to charity, but I don't think the bulk should go there.Maybe you could create a business that would employ hundreds of people. Yeah with with numbers that were drawing its crazy that those 40 people missed the mega ball and 163 were missing a white ball. What was the total amount of tickets sold in this last drawing? I say this Friday someone or some people are going to be IN THE MONEY! hahaBrad

I'm going to really go out on a limb and predict that this run has one more roll left. I predict that there will be a single winner on 7/6, and the jackpot will be in the neighborhood of 450 million. It's time for Jack W. to step down as the highest single-ticket lottery winner in the US.

Well, out of the three times in history that the Powerball or Big Game (Mega Millions) jackpot has gone above $300 million, one was won by a single ticket (the $315 million Powerball jackpot on 12/25/02); one was won by three tickets (the $331 million Big Game jackpot on 04/16/02); the largest jackpot ever awarded was won by two tickets (the $363 million Big Game jackpot on 05/09/00).

I predicted a couple of draws ago that this jackpot run would yield a $300 million jackpot, so I'm hoping for a mid-week increase

I predict that the $280 Million will be more like $300-305 Million... Any other predictions? I remember the final powerball drawing in Dec 02'.... it was predicted at well under $300 million and it ended well over 300. I know that was a special time of the year, but I'm just making a prediction.

I won $6 last night and went to bed very depressed because I was sure the jackpot would not roll due to the large volumn of tickets bought and the low numbers. This morning I got a very pleasant surprise to find that it rolled - I'm all happy again and having multi-million dollar daydreams - it will be a fun 3 days building up to Friday night.
