Backup bets means straight/box you can only get a payout on the box bet if it doesn't come out straight, just like the pick 3. If you play a ticket for 1234 .50 straight/box which you pay the clerk a 1.00 for, just because you've paid a 1.00 for a straight/box doesn't mean you'll get paid for a straight if it doesn't come out straight you can only get paid for the .50 box bet... and that's because your number only came out boxed.

yes I understand that Jani, but I am not playing box...I am playing straight with a back up bet...the ticket cost 1.00 (total). According to the website the payout is 2600, if youre number comes in straight or boxed, because you bought a straight/back up ticket...Now if I bought a .50 cent ticke t for straight it would be a 2500 win.If I bought a .50 cent ticket it for a box it would be 100.But if I buy a .50 bet (1.00 cost ticket) and the number comes up straight or boxed I get 2600...Thats how... This is what i get each time i hit a pick 4 ***.50 bx bet will get you 100.00 ****1.00 box will get you 200.00 on the (1234) now if it's a double say (1123) for .50 you get 200.00 and so on, does this clear things up for you some.

No I am not wheeling..all i want to do is play a number (eg 1234) to on a .50 cent bet with a 24 way backup bet (1.00 total cost for ticket)..now if my number comes in 1234 I win 2600! but what do i win if my number comes in 2341? I thought 24 way backup bet ment, if it comes in anyway you win $2600.All I play is one number.hope this helps, this for ohio state.Thanks

If by 24 way back up, you mean a $1. wheel , which would cost $24.00, you will get $5000. If you mean a $1. Box , $200. By the way you can't play a $1. pick-4 wheel, you have to write out ,or mark the cards for the 24 different ways. You can wheel a pick - 3 .Libra Dave

Our you certain, the way i thought is like how west va is..you bet straight/24 way backup..if your number comes in straight you win 2600..if it comes in boxed you win $200.is ohio diffrent then West Va.? this is really confusing me..Thanks for answers.

i am a newbie to all this, especially pick 4..my question is simple...If I play the #5678 for eg as a straight/24 way back up,(1 min bet) what will I win if it comes in as a back up? eg 6758$2600
