i voted no because if one could purchase lottery tickets from another state from their computer, or even their nearest convenience store, it would be the same as forming a national lottery, and that should never occur.

The only reason I would want the federal government involved is if they were going to create a national lottery for the nation. I would be happy if I could play both the mega millions and the powerball in my state so I would not have to pay extra to buy them online.

Yeah, I don't think that one state should sell another state's lottery. There's too many complexities involved.

I don't think this could happen because it would be deemed unconstitutional for the fed gov't to make states sell other states tickets. There is nothing in the constitution about lotteries so the operation of lotteries would have to be left up to the states and the feds would have to keep their hands off of state lotteries and that is they way it should be. If the feds what to get into running lotteries a national lottery would have to be created.

States probably would not sell other States lottery games unless they made as much as the selling State from them. That means if the selling States get 50% of sales as profit then another State selling their games would have to increase the price by 50% for their share of the profits and customers would not want to play the extra fees to play out of State games. Depends on what you mean by in check . Possibly it would have the effect of introducing competition between the lotteries and increase payout percentages unless collusion were involved. What effect it would have on the multiple Pick 3 and Pick 4 games involved would remain to be seen. But the main effect it might have is to push the U.S. toward a national lottery.Then there's the state tax thing.....gljohn
