IF i won big ($30-$40 million after taxes), I would buy a not too expensive house (maybe $600,000) in NJ where my whole family is (no I wont run away from my family). I would still continue to live in NJ.Then I would buy a nice apartment in NYC, hopefully somewhere in downtown or SOHO. Then I would buy a nice beach house in LA.Another nice beach house in Miami or Tampa. And if its not too expensive, I would buy a nice house in French Polynesia, maybe on Moorea, or Bora Bora.And that would be it... [ More ]

i would move somewhere that i could have dsl.a nice safe and quiet place.maybe in the mountains or hills or with at least 4-5 acres of land.i'd move to wv.

If I wanted to move out of the country, I'd probably consider Australia or New Zealand. I was thinking along the lines of Adelaide, mainly because I have a long time pen pal who lives there. He's sent me alot of pictures of it and the like, and it looks like it might be a good place.Anyone ever been there?PrisonerSix

I love this topic, makes me feel like I have already won! I live in boston and love cambridge, MA cuz of the technology and MIT and all. I Would buy a house close to a modern city where I could drive down to the beach. Love to live in sydney although have heared peps are too snoby.

Not that I am temper...mental(or anything), but Tahiti sounds like the best place. Donot know what an island would cost or if any are FOR SALE? Bet someone could provide that information if PSY won? I win the lottery in the US, I would move to one of the mouse communities out side of Disney World they control, where all outside maintance is done and I'd just hang out at Disney and Universal, etc. If I win the Australian lottery and it's tax free there, I'd consider moving if I could pass the language hurtle. Well.......after studying hard for about three seconds, for me it's the hill country around Austin. I only live about three hours from there now. I get down there pretty often. I really like Bandara. It's about 55 miles west of Austin. Or mabye Lukenbach, I like them all.There would be that little cabin up high in the Colorado Rockies too.IMT

I would get my mail at a post office box and drive it to a ranch in the hill country outside of Austin, TX. But I would spend a good deal of my time in an RV smoothing around the state and country.

I would first buy 700-1000 wooded hilly acres and develope my own private campground for myself and family members. I'm talking an initial investment of around 2 to 2 1/2 million dollars. I once went to a website called findyourspot.com. Basically, they give you a questionaire on factors that are important to you in a place to live. Most of my spots were in the south, considering that's where I'm from and the fact I prefer warm weather make sense. There were several places in North Carolina including Raleigh, which I thought was interesting. Where I live now, even anywhere in my state, wasn't listed. I would keep my home base near BIG D (Dallas), but I would have secondary homes all over the US. This way I can experience everything that this GREAT NATION has to offer - from Christmas time in Times Square to summer time in the city of Angels, from Seattle rain to Mardi Gras and Gumbo in New Orleans.....
