It depends on the amount... If it were between $1,000,000 and $3,000,000 after taxes, I would keep working... until my own business got up and running...If I won just the base jackpot for powerball, I would absolutely stop working for someone else! I would not feel right keeping a job from someone who needs it, I KNOW what it's like to be job hunting and worried sick about providing for your family...I would take the lump sum, mostly because of the startup cost of the new business to do it right... [ More ]

Yes, it depends on how many millions you win. Of course, as four4me stated: there are many factors/variables and each person's situation is different. In my opinion, there's no one size fits all. Theoretically, a person could live on $3 million (after taxes) and not work. Now, if the winner is sustaining the family, the friends, and other assorted charities and/or beggars, his or her money will dwindle.Furthermore, having your own business is a PLUS. However, having your business in your hom... [ More ]

All i can say is in order to be rich and stay rich is to know your roots in the first place and spend your money wisely. And before sharing your winnings with family and friends, make them to understand that you are not a gravy well that people can run to for save haven cuz the first people to financially destroy you will be family members thinking, When i get in trouble i know who to run to for help.If you use your money wisely and where every penny is going, trust me you will have financial stab... [ More ]

It all depends on who you are what you do for a living whether or not your young or older. If you own the home you live in and don't want to move again. Winning anything under 2 million one would probably have to keep their job especially if you have children and they plan to go to college. And older couple who's children are grow and stable might be able to live very comfortable with a few million if invested wisely. Another thing to remember as we get older things are going to cost more. Price... [ More ]

I hear about these people who win a few million and they say they will keep working...some here say they would stop working. Personally I don't think it is good and just stop working, I currently don't work and it is bad. I would take a nice vacation if I won, but I would try and start my own business and atleast work 5 hours a day or more. What are your thoughts on this?MP
