Different color Lotto balls-Why?

i think it's just to make the draw show look more appealing. kinda like how NY has the ball machines rotate between drawing winning numbers.

Different color Lotto balls-Why?

Here in IL. they use different color balls for the Lotto drawing. I was wondering why, and also what numbers are what colors and does this change depending on what group of balls the use? Like tonight four of the six numbers drawn the balls were blue and one ball was orange and one yellow. Does anyone know how this works? Just curious. Thanks for you help. fast eddie
