dventually every state will realize that the only way to make extra money is by starting up a lottery. remember that if a state tries to turn down a lottery due to religious reasons, it's a violation of the 1st amendment.

I think that out of the remaining states left they will all dventually need a lottery to pay for some of the programs within there state. So someday powerball will have 35 states and mega millions will have 15 and in the next 50 years we may have a national lottery to push powerball and mega millions around.

Powerball has more than half the states but nowhere near half the country . PB has 27 states, Wash DC, PR and USVI but merely 31% of the US population. MM has only 12 states--now with Ca--but 53% of the population. ( 95.5 m vs 155 m) Another state or two won't make any difference. I'm with the others who want PB to increase the lesser prizes. Also with those favoring the abandonment of annuitized amounts--- and tax free

oh that would be so cool. If one state had both. lol TX wanted to do it. I think Mega Millions should let Louisiana join them in addition to powerball. that way I could just play one with the jackpot is high and not both.

Powerball has not changed its first through fifth place prize payouts since it started in 1992. Before 1997, it used to pay $5 for matching three numbers (or two+PB), $2 for matching one + PB, and $1 for mathching PB only, but those are the only prizes that have changed.

First..what does MUSL mean?I remember when TN started a lottery this year I was thinking why didn't they get mega millions? I think it would have made more sense because KY MO are already Powerball.

exactly. it is getting even harder for a smaller state to get a winner. i was very surprised when deleware had that powerball winner. making it harder to win also pshes back the dates in which CO, ND, ME, VT, and USVI see their first jackpot winners. remember that it took over 10 years for SD to see a winner.

i think that a limit is a good idea because getting so many states in there and they start making it harder and changing the matrix and adding more folks and it just makes it that much difficult for a certain state to get a winner...........

Powerball now has over half the country playing. Do you see Powerball dventually allowing no more states to join? From what I hear, Mega Millions is only going to allow one more state to join.
