How Prize Tiers Work A typical lottery divides prizes based on how many numbers a player matches from the draw. A game requiring 6 numbers from 50 might have eight prize tiers ranging from matching all 6 numbers down to matching just 2....

Yes Yes Yes YES YES YES!!
I finally got a reply from the GA Lottery about my request for detailed odds on all of their instant games. They sent me detailed odds for 7 of the games I requested. According to the little letter they sent with it, more are coming and they asked for my patience and apologized for taking so long. (Side note: I had gotten to the point to where I emailed WGCL-TV 46 CBS Atlanta's consumer team asking if my request fell under open records laws (thinking the GA Lot...

Odds of probability [ Random thoughts]
Just reading in the math section about probabilities. I am not a mathematican so I do not know how to calculate the odds. So in the pick 3 game we have 220 box combos. By putting the numbers into groups like v-tracs or a coded system like the wheel code would reduce the odds of probability I would think. So in my wheel code I have 20 groups that contain different amounts of numbers in a group from 4 to 18 box combos in a group. So if all the numbers in a grou...

WE OWED THIS TO DIAMOND PALACE AND RJOH.... TOPIC STARTED BY DIAMOND PALACE COMMENT BY RJOH : Should I be fortunate to create a program that reduced the odds of winning any lottery and actually won a jackpot, I would be more interested in winning another jackpot than setting up a website to sell it. If a program could really help win a lottery jackpot, you would have to sell a...

Why multiple tickets for the same draw do not divide the odds
It is a common practice to look at a ratio and reduce it. In pure numbers that is just fine, but in the lottery these numbers represent something and therefore cannot be reduced. Let's use the simplest example possible... a pick 2 game. Posted odds are 1:100 The one represents your ticket, also known as the favorable outcome. The 100 represents the draw, or the possible outcomes. Buy one ticket, such as 45, then your odds are 1 favorable...
