Weird ... and SPYWARE ><
Just chuckling at being called weird here today. ^^; Of course, I think it's a good thing... but this is not what I really want to talk about ....
This is about .... SPYWARE . ; the scourge of all that is computer. I know how to inoculate myself and prevent such things, but many people I had to fix their computers with (aunts, uncles, friends, neighbors, complete strangers) are chuck full of them. Though it is a nice lil bit of side income, it does piss me off that people...

Windows 8: looking good
Although lots of Lottery Post members and visitors are completely non-technical when it comes to computers, there are a good number who are pretty handy with technology, and smartly keep up-to-date with the latest.
Windows 8 is just around the corner for the public, with an official release date of October 26, 2012. But developers (like me!) with subscriptions to Microsoft developer programs have had the final release of Windows 8 for about a month now, so good infor...

Microsoft already delivered IE10 platform preview
Microsoft is on a roll!
After making IE9 available for general delivery through Windows Update just in the past week, Microsoft today announced that the first platform preview of IE10 is available for download.
It usually takes up to a year from platform preview until final release, but with Microsoft's fast-paced development, perhaps it will be sooner.
Whatever the final release date, it looks like IE10 will be the ver...

ASP.NET AJAX: Replacement CSS add/remove functions
I came across a major performance issue in the Microsoft ASP.NET AJAX client library (JavaScript library) today.

Another reason to stop using IE7 now
Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) like IE6 before it is a dying browser that is losing support all over the Internet. Continuing to use IE7 will result in a much worse Internet experience, that's going to continue getting worse by the day.
At this point, there is not a single reason to avoid upgrading to IE8. Anybody using IE7 can easily upgrade to IE8, and there are no more sites left that don't work with IE8.
This week Google announced that its a...
