Dog Track "system"
The Canadian weather forecast thread where the guy hit the jackpot brought this to mind.
For a very short time there was a dog track in Henderson, NV, the town that borders Las Vegas. Our pit boss went there to bet on the dogs one day and he couldn't do anything wrong.
For five races in a row he had the winning dog.
A guy sitting next to him asked him how he was doing it, and he points out a column in the racing form, 111/8, 12. 12 1/2, etc...and says, &...

"Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On"
In the winter of 1811-12, the central Mississippi Valley was struck by three of the most powerful earthquakes in U.S. history. Even today, this region has more earthquakes than any other part of the United States east of the Rocky Mountains.
The 400 terrified residents in the town of New Madrid (Missouri) were abruptly awakened by violent shaking and a tremendous roar. It was December 16, 1811, and a powerful earthquake had just struck. This was the first of three magnitude-8 earthquake...

Home and Back In the Mines
Home. Busted out of tournament early. Enjoyed a lot of people there. Neat trip, but a llittle tiring.
Found a couple of interesting math-related Keno questions in another forum regarding Nevada Millions, a progressive jackpot game. Diverted a little time preparing responses.
It's back to...
