They changed the law that came back and bit them.
They changed the law in Mass in 2004 to have a special election for a senators seat when they resign or pass away. In 2004 they had a republican governor. They obviously did not want the governor to appoint a republican to replace Kerry. Now we have senator Kennedys death. Now they are biting the bullet about having a special election. They are looking for a way around the law now. Lets see how this unfolds as time moves on. The Dems cooked themselves on that one....
