This is true. I have looked at the pick 3 evening game in PA as the 3 digit combo instead of per column as usual, the only takeaway was that in the evening game, which started in 1977, every single straight combo has been drawn at least 5 times.

So what. In Pick 3, there are only 1,000 combinations. Those can be bought by one person for one drawing. 292 million is way too many. What's your point, other than to, once again, demonstrate to the rest of us that you have no original thought?

hello hyper=10% of the 0 to 9 in pick 3 is only for the 1st position, because if I don't want the triple (e.g., 000...999, 10 triplets) and if I want the twin pair (00 to 99, 10 pairs), my bet will have 3 different digits (e.g., 581). In other words, I have a bet with the highest number of possible combinations within the 100% range. Of course, not 100%, but if I play 12 draws, will I get it right?

It doesn't change the fact that the probability of winning a straight bet on one pick 3 combination is 1 in 1,000. It has nothing to do with previous drawings. The drawings are independent.

I grew up on the northeast coast, way before America had any lotteries people played 'policy' or 'the numbers' (illegal pick 3), the number was decided by the last three dollar digits of the mutual handle of varying race tracks. At that time the Irish sweepstakes was very popular when ever tickets were available. I forget the price but those who have access to offering such things know that a player will always find action.
