Probability of winning with multiple tickets
The easy way to understand the difference is from the end of Tucker's last post... 4/500,000... this is where probability stops... one ticket gives you 4 favorable outcomes to the 500,000 possible outcomes. This is the reality of any game. Only here we have 4 top prizes instead of one. 1/125,000... this is where the Odds are... which is favorable outcomes to unfavorable outcomes. He is correct in performing the division here because for every favorable outcome there are 125,000 unfavorab

It looks as if the $5.00 MM ticket is doing poorly.
While there are games that cost more than $5..... $10 scratchers, $20 scratchers, $50 scratchers, $20 raffle tickets, etc., the difference is that in those games, you have a vastly higher chance of winning a large amount of money. The problem with the new $5 MM is that they didn't change much of anything. It includes the multiplier for lower prizes (instead of giving you a choice to pay the extra $1). They included a 10X possibility but re-arranged the other multiplier odds to give you preci

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
The growth of the MM jackpot has certainly been muted. I'm not surprised in the least as there has been zero hype around the jackpot since it surpassed the $700mm threshold. Usually when a jackpot goes above the $500mm threshold, you see news articles and chatter about it. This time around, nada... I'm actually wondering what MM will be like once it resets back to $50mm. I can see a day where a jackpot can easily go 8-9 months or even a year without being won due to such little activity. On

How Astronomical Is It To Get The Number Right In Each Column?
By the data, that makes 1, 10, 20, 30, 40, 49 the most likely combo in any 6/49. This is a common misperception. That combo and any other combo has exactly the same probability of occurrence. Using our posts about Combinatorial Fractalization and Combinatorial Distribution , the moment we fix a column to a number changes the way we calculate the probabilities of the remaining numbers in each column successively. Properly calculated for each successive fixed number in each column

is it luckier to buy tickets on the rich side of town?
No, the neighborhood doesn't matter. What does matter though is that wealthier people can afford to cut their odds by buying multiple tickets per draw.

Rising Gas Prices and the Lottery
Nehhhh....I have a coworker that's habitually late since 2022 and that takes care of any normal weekly purchases .....The only thing that affects my lottery play is the cost of rising lottery prices and games with foolish odds. One or the other or both would be the culprit for non participation.

Balancing Odds and Cost 😁
From what I gather. It's drawn from a different machine. So I see it as 2 completely different games. But I get what your saying. And yea.... I'd be irate. Bht I just can't justify playing a second drawing with the same odds for a way smaller jackpot. Just my opinion.....

Balancing Odds and Cost 😁
I skip the double play option. The odds are the same as the powerball. But I do get the bonus multiplier. And speaking of the double play. Where does that money go if no one wins?

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
With the $5 price tag on the Measly and the PB going multinational...what the geniuses should do is bring the dollar game back with the old odds from Mega Millions maybe even add 1 number to the Mega Ball, draws on Thursday Sunday and let it roll.....That will tell them what the players really want.
