Lucky For Life to Millionaire For Life - $5 Ticket
The difference between Lucky for Life $2 and Millionaire for Life $5 is nothing like the difference between old MM $2 and new MM $5. New MM $5 is a horrible game. It's not just the price of $5, it's what you get for that five bucks. Lucky for Life $2 has a 1 in 30 million chance of winning the top prize. Millionaire for Life improves that to 1 in 23 million. The ticket costs 2.5 times as much but the top prize is more than 2.5 times as much... 2.74 times as much as an annuity, or 3.13 ti

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
Since the race began when Mega Millions ticket prices were raised to $5, the Powerball jackpot reached about $1.8 billion twice. Whereas, Mega Millions reached just shy of $1 billion only once. What exactly is the race ? If we're talking about bang for the buck(s) PB's cheaper price usually makes it the better bet, but at any given moment the jackpot divided by the ticket cost is as close as there is to a sensible metric for deciding which game to play. Right now MM's chance at $138 million

Encounters in the wild
David Attenborough Impression In late afternoon at this mid-latitude location in North America, and it's just beginning to get dark in mid-November . There are perhaps 100 individuals gathered here. No doubt some would like to find a mate, but all are here because of the varied and abundant supply of food. Near the periphery are two older males. While one is a very handsome example of his species the other looks quite average, but his behavior is about to reveal that there's something very

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Twenty years. Same numbers. Winning next to nothing. I am astounded that you played the same numbers for twenty years. I am impressed by your persistence and patience. I am actually curious. Did you play the same numbers for Powerball, Mega Millions, and the other lotteries in your state? I would think that those numbers would eventually at least come close to win a smaller prize in one of those games over that length of time. I used to get excited when jackpots where high. No

Does Lottery Software work?
I like the argument from hypersoniq that the lottery is memoryless. It does not remember the past draws. This is especially true of ball draws, not sure about computer generated draws. The truth is if there was a system that worked, we would have jackpot winners almost every drawing or every other draw, but we don't, more so for the bigger jackpots, PB, MM and other larger State games like those in Texas and California. I mostly play QPs, but once in a while I try to do my own ab

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
2025 : The $5 MM is currently at $358M/ $164.5M CASH (20 draws), which only has to triple for my donations to begin. 2024 : The MM run from June 7th - September 10th had a total of 27 draws to get to $800 Million/$401.8M, where it was won. During that particular run, when the jackpot was also sitting at exactly $358 Million/$169.7M CASH , after just 16 draws (Remember folks, that jackpot in 2024 started at $20M with tickets at $2 a pop. As opposed to the jackpots now sta

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
Jackpot fever has not taken hold yet. The revised jackpot estimate (and the lowish estimates on the last few jackpots) suggests that it might be starting. Therefore, there is a very good possibility Powerball will break the record number of consecutive rolls. The current record stands at 40. The Powerball jackpot has to roll just 4 more times to break the record. The chance of 4 more rolls based on the current worksheet on the TX lottery website is 21%, but it's probably lower. I d

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
I'm just done with Mega Millions altogether. I played it since it was available in California, so a sample size that runs around 20ish years. The most I ever won was matching 3 numbers for probably around $10. $5 a ticket just became a barrier I wasn't willing to pass through. Whatever I would have normally spent just went to other draw games like California Fantasy 5 tickets instead. The actual jackpot total plays no part in my decision to buy a ticket or not. I also just get 1 ticket per
