It looks as if the $5.00 MM ticket is doing poorly.
I agree. This game is hard enough. Charging 5 dollars a ticket is a quick way to go to the poor house. Ohio created another new game for 5 dollars. Do I want to buy two or four tickets for that game or 10 or 20 for the rolling cash five. It's an easy answer. They don't want to increase the numbers anymore. So they just increase the cost of a ticket. Insanity is what it is. I hope they're bringing in less and it stays that way.

Would a pick 6 be viable?
What is the difference between the game described and the Ohio Kicker? New Zealand has a similar game called Bullseye, but whether you win is based on how close your guess is to the number drawn in absolute terms (e.g., for the Jan. 1, 2025 draw, they picked 728534. If you guess within ten numbers (e.g., 728530), you win $10,000, but if you miss by the first digit (e.g., 128534), you win nothing.

Probability of winning with multiple tickets
It depends on what numbers you pick. Someone gave an example of a pick 2 game (and most pick 3 games with front pair etc. bets) with 100 possible outcomes. Betting any 10 combos gets 10 to 1 odds, but are the odds the same for any 10 combos and 10 combos with 10 different digits in the first position? RCB reminded me of when I too hit 5 out of 6 playing the Ohio Lotto when it was a 6/40 game. Wrote down all 40 numbers on playing cards, mixed them up and drew six at a time and placed the

Lottery Numbers Aren't Meant To Be Random

Would a pick 6 be viable?
I thought Kicker was tied to one of the other Ohio games--wasn't sure which. Michigan and Virginia had Kicker games at one point as well, but both discontinued long ago. Virginia's, I remember, ended in the late 1990s. When I was first starting to follow the lottery, I wondered why states even had both a 3-ball and a 4-ball numbers game. Why not just a Pick-4 with the option of playing the front 3 or back 3? Or why not a Pick 6 with options for Pick 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6?

Would a pick 6 be viable?
The Ohio classic lotto is a 6/49 game and the kicker is extra. I do not think you get to pick your numbers in the kicker game. The payout vs. odds on the kicker are horrible compared to what the regular daily drawn games pay out. $10 for the front 2, $100 for the front three, etc... they pay out 10% of the odds. Now, that is only for an extra dollar, where most front or back match N sub bets (like a front 3 on a pick 4 ticket) cost extra, but you get to pick your own numbers. Plus I thin

2026 tax rates now published at USA Mega
Both the federal tax rate brackets and the state income tax rates used for the Powerball Jackpot Analysis and Mega Millions Jackpot Analysis pages at USA Mega have been updated to the latest 2026 rates. Federal tax bracket changes happen every year, with the IRS adjusting each bracket upwards slightly to account for inflation. For a lottery jackpot winner claiming millions in income this results in a minuscule change in taxes paid, but the adjustment at USA Mega does make it exact. For s

Fall 2026 Powerball changes
While there are no current, nationwide changes announced for the core Powerball game itself in 2026, many states are expected to replace the game Lucky for Life with a new multi-state game called Millionaire for Life . New Millionaire for Life Game The new game, expected to have its first drawing on February 22, 2026, will launch in several states (including Connecticut, Montana, South Dakota, Colorado, North Dakota, and Ohio) and will have different rules and prize structures compared

Games most played
My first choice is Powerball, but only when the jackpot is truly outrageous - 500-750 Mil cash value or more. The way it is moving up now it is just about time to jump in for the big one - only a few more draws to go before it hits my target I think. My second choice is the Rolling Cash 5 5/39 game in Ohio. I do it the same way as Powerball - I save the cost of a ticket each draw in 100K jackpot increments and jump in when the jackpot is 350-400K or more. I just started doing that for this g

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
4 lucky players matched the first 5 numbers for a $1,000,000 prize: 1 from California, 1 from New Jersey, 1 from New York, and 1 from Ohio That is a sign that more tickets are being purchased, we are getting closer to a purchase frenzy when and if it hits the 500M mark. I feel that players are re allocating their MM funds to PB. I did not match any number in yesterday's draw, but we move on to Saturday with renewed spirits Good luck to all.
