Just yesterday using only 3 digits, I predicted a winning combination on the Michigan Pick 3 thread. When was the last time YOU did that??? Never, I guess...

Why do some people call this gambling?
I just closed my eyes and let my fingers do the work. Maybe I am on to something just like you. Going to give it a try for Pick 3 and see how it goes. I'll get back to you and let you know how it works out. This is all a joke, Right?

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
99.9% of the time I'll get a QP cause I don't play MM or PB that often. When I saw your comment about the advance plays I tried it too for tonight, Tues, and next Fri. Could only do tonight and Tues. So I thought, let's see if you could do it on the play slips, grabbed a few and, WALLA!! Fill out your numbers or select QP for reg #'s and QP for Bonus # and number of draws. I've bought numbers in advance on Pick 3 and it's all on one ticket with the dates. But since they change the Megaplier on e

Outrage! Oklahoma holds digit 3 out for 20 days
Its not unusual for skip count to reach 20+. This is the current skip count for pick 3 games. Any digit has 271 straight combinations which has an expected skip count of 2.69 draws. I personally think its better to play some event that is transitioning from say 2x to 3x skip count versus playing outliers. But does it really matter its all random and you are only tracking 1 event.

LOTTERY POST 25TH ANNIVERSARY GIVEAWAY #1
I love the different perspectives on number Combos and bless the heart of those who do all the calculations (math wasn't my strong point other than collecting a winning ticket lol)! I've learned so much from MzDuffleBag, CeasarFC2000, Sully16 and others. Thank you for all you do to educate us newbies! The comraderie is great for collaborating and hearing others win makes my day. Plus one stop shop for multiple states (I like to travel and play different states). Now I'd love to h

Oregon lottery kept my $1500 winning ticket
I heard this for 2026 Starting January 1, 2026, the federal jackpot tax reporting threshold increases from $1,200 to $2,000 I assume this applies since the huff n puff I have played in casinos is a video slot machine. So should not be reported via W-2G. I guess it's up to you on whether you report the earned income. It might be an interesting poll if the $500 Pick 3 Winners report as income. I would expect most people if they itemize deductions would show a gambling loss for the yea

Probability of winning with multiple tickets
Tucker, thank you for the very concise explanation. I agree with you 100%. Unfortunately, the people that already did not believe what you wrote will probably not be convinced. They do not want to admit they were once mistaken. Improving the odds is exactly why I only buy tickets as a member of a pool. I never buy a ticket on my own. Yes, I could win a pick 3 game but winning $500 is not very exciting for me. Winning the Mega Millions or Powerball games is nearly impossible when buying y

Never did this before
You said a bet that is guaranteed to win. In the lottery, slots, and live keno, any bet that pays the gambler something is called a win . It is only in table games, and not the progressive side bets where the wins are stated as for 1 rather than to 1 , that a win is defined to be a net win. As you know, for winning bets, the dealer takes chips out of the tray and hands them to the player and leaves the original bet in place. This is done purely for convenience. If you buy all 100 possible fr

It looks as if the $5.00 MM ticket is doing poorly.
I'm aware of why most people play the lottery. But the people who participate on this board know far more about lottery games than the average lottery player. Do you hate everyone else on this board too? And how is that woke and pc for me to point that out? How pathetic. And yes I do play the lottery. I'm very particular in what games I play. There are people on this board who are very particular about what numbers to play and what type of bet to make on pick 3, which is a pretty simple game

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
I think what winoneday meant was that it was bad luck for the house. In the long run, the average jackpot won will equal the expected value. In a game like this, a drawing every few days with odds of 1 in 300 million, the long run could be many years. In a short period of time, the players can be lucky which means the house (MUSL) is unlucky. Unlike other games like pick 3 or any table game or slot machine in a casino, where more jackpots are good for business because the long run for th
