I thought Kicker was tied to one of the other Ohio games--wasn't sure which. Michigan and Virginia had Kicker games at one point as well, but both discontinued long ago. Virginia's, I remember, ended in the late 1990s. When I was first starting to follow the lottery, I wondered why states even had both a 3-ball and a 4-ball numbers game. Why not just a Pick-4 with the option of playing the front 3 or back 3? Or why not a Pick 6 with options for Pick 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6?

The Ohio classic lotto is a 6/49 game and the kicker is extra. I do not think you get to pick your numbers in the kicker game. The payout vs. odds on the kicker are horrible compared to what the regular daily drawn games pay out. $10 for the front 2, $100 for the front three, etc... they pay out 10% of the odds. I have taken advantage of this got 3 hits but it's still so hard and box pay for pick 5 doesn't pay much when it's 5 different digits. Big money is double pairs, triples and quads unless you gonna catch it straight.

I used to keep track of Virginia's 3-ball fairly religiously, and there was always a three-digit combo that hadn't won in exact order in at least 6,000 drawings. Divide 6000 by 100, and you get 60, which is the number of non-shows by the number 3 in the Oklahoma Lottery (20 Pick-3 drawings). So, I do not find the number 3 not showing up for twenty drawings unusual.
