Michigan Weekly Breakdown — Fantasy 5 & Lotto 47 Trend Report (April 4-9)
From some of the things I've read in the Lottery Master Guide book (LMG) authored by the late Gail Howard, on page 8 in the LMG it says:
How Jackpots Are Built
Lottery Officials Love when a Jackpot Rolls Over.
Because it increases lottery ticket sales for the next drawing. And it brings in more revenue for the State.
In the State of Michigan, from what I understand is... the lottery proceeds go into an Educational Fund to assist with the educational needs for grades K thru 12 in

DC 5 Lottery needs to be audited immediately. The same thing that happened to Tennessee in 2007
just to add more context to this conversation, here are some past news articles about programming errors in computerized drawings other states similar to what we're seeing with dc pick 5

Really appreciate you breaking this down so thoroughly.
Your 7:08 PM terminal story is interesting that kind of timing glitch happens, and it does make you wonder. The 21-minute window before results post is something more people should pay attention to.
On the PLC theory, I understand the logic. But from my own experience working in a lottery operation back in Poland in the 90s (as a technician servicing lotto terminals), the systems I saw were specifically designed so that nobody could

Help Me Understand This 😭
* Anytime there are as many tries as there are possible outcomes than chance of a hit are 63.21%. Chance of getting a 1 when rolling a die 6 times: 63.21%. Chance of drawing the ace of spades when choosing 1 card from a freshly shuffled deck 52 times: 63.21%. Chance of winning P3 if you play it 1000 individual times: 63.21% .
Interesting! This is an different perspective on the odds. Most texts talk about the number of draws it takes to have a 50/50 chance of hitting. Thanks for this differ

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
The comment I made last night was rude and inappropriate, and for that I apologize.
Back to the topic...
Inflation is not the reason for MM to raise their ticket price to $5. Inflation does not affect math. A 1 in 300 million (roughly) chance is always a 1 in 300 million chance regardless of what the CPI is.
Inflation affects the cost of operating the game, which is the cost of thermal ticket paper, the machines to print them, and the twice weekly drawing. That's pennies.

Probability of winning with multiple tickets
I too have had 'trouble' with what's being argued so passionately in this thread.
When I lived in the Northeast, although I lived in New York State, I lived in close proximity to Pennsylvania. Every Fall The PA Lottery (for what I'm guessing is the last 20 years or more) holds their Millionaire Raffle. According to the raffles official rules, a maximum of 500,000 tickets can be sold. The PA Lottery has always advertised the odds for the raffle at 125,000 to 1 because there are 4 top prize w

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
This just in to The Interesting to Note But Nobody Cares Department -
This time around The Florida Lottery did in fact revamp this edition of The Millionaire Raffle. I think they probably copied some ideas that were instituted by The Pennsylvania Millionaire Raffle. I'm a transplant from the Northeast to Florida, and I used to live less than an hour's drive of Pennsylvania. PA has offered their version of a Millionaire Raffle every Fall for many years. I made the trip over to PA each Fall qu

The $29.95 Non-Believerz
When a game has a drawing in which each possible outcome is equally likely (such as Powerball), probability math says that.... drum roll.... each outcome is equally likely !
I don't know what stupid system you're using to predict numbers, but it is not probability mathematics. Please stop calling it that.
Probability math is used to calculate the probability of an event occurring (e.g. all numbers drawn are odd numbers or the result is 1-5-7-12-14 and 5 ), or its expected value, or its v
