Florida and Claiming a Jackpot Anonymously
Assuming FL has such a page I'd expect somebody who won $6 million, regardless of the game, to get an entry. Because you're in New York, you'd expect that, but your expectation would be wrong. Assuming The Florida Lottery operates the same as The New York Lottery operates is a huge leap of faith. The Florida Lottery does have such a page on their website, but I doubt a winners picture would appear on it if the winner claimed anonymously using Florida Statute 1021.51. G5

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
I'm now the proud owner of one Florida Lottery Millionaire Raffle ticket!! I kinda knew when I went into that liquor store that the clerk wouldn't know anything about them..... I asked for one Florida Lottery Millionaire Raffle ticket as I put my bottle of wine on the counter. Now, because I'm an Old Fool myself, I do make it a point to try and take pity on the old guy behind the counter. We aint got 'em. he says pointing to the scratch offs below the glass top counter. I say I aint

Florida and Claiming a Jackpot Anonymously
I learned some things over the weekend about claiming anonymously in Florida. At an HOA sponsored Christmas party I had a conversation with a lottery playing friend who is one helluva lot more knowledgeable than I am about Florida law. I wasn't surprised... he's a retired lawyer from The Northeast, although I don't know what his area of expertise is/was. He sits on The Board of Directors of my community's HOA. He's a real nice guy, and in the past we've shared some laughs about winning the lotte

89 second prize winners for the powerball
Good catch. I gave it a little more thought a few hours later after I had posted and realized that my state (Florida) would be responsible for paying out second place prizes. But Florida doesn't have to concern themselves with it. Zero 2nd place Winners. G5

Answer Me This...
Just like you, I'm sure many players would think they'd make more money from extra ticket sales, but to answer your question requires me to ask you a question. That question is - WHAT extra ticket sales? Today's Florida Fantasy5 jackpots are way down. The winners prize pool contains 62% of all ticket sales for the sales period of the upcoming drawing. Single winner jackpots are now approximately $110,000 when prior to going to two draws per day they were approximately $200,000. 62% of $

Answer Me This...
There are some very smart folks who are a lot smarter than I am that routinely post here. Maybe they could weigh in and answer a question for me. A couple of years ago, The Florida Lottery added a midday drawing to their very popular daily Fantasy5 online game. All that did was lower jackpot amounts dramatically. Until that change, daily jackpots were in the $200,000 range. (When the Snowbirds landed in Florida, jackpots climbed to a range of $230,000 to $235,000.) Even in Snowbird seaso
