Probability of winning with multiple tickets
I too have had 'trouble' with what's being argued so passionately in this thread.
When I lived in the Northeast, although I lived in New York State, I lived in close proximity to Pennsylvania. Every Fall The PA Lottery (for what I'm guessing is the last 20 years or more) holds their Millionaire Raffle. According to the raffles official rules, a maximum of 500,000 tickets can be sold. The PA Lottery has always advertised the odds for the raffle at 125,000 to 1 because there are 4 top prize w

The current odds of hitting the top prize in Cash 4 Life are 1 in 21,846,048.
Where I live we have Lucky for Life instead and the current odds of hitting Lucky for Life top prize are 1 in 30,821,472
The new Millionaire For Life odds of winning the grand prize are 1 in 22.9 million .
Depending on where you live, the odds could either improve or get a little harder for you.
There is also the difference in the amount won.
I play Lucky for Life a lot, I will be playing the new

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Ok, now that we have the historical data posted, many of you can run your own analysis.
During the 2017-10-31 to 2025-04-04 run of MM, there were on average about 1.81 5 + 0 winners per draw.
Now, there are only on average about 0.53 5 + 0 winners per draw... hmm, interesting, since the odds are slightly better now than before.
There's on average a little more than 3.5 times more 5 + 0 winners in the previous run of MM.
Additionally, our calculation of the odds of getting 5 + 0 a

markov pick3
The 3 positions are as independent of each other as the next draw is to previous draws... so 0 through 9 has a 10% chance of being drawn in any position. This extends from a pick 2 through a pick 5 (quinto) game.
You can look at all 1,000 possible combinations of pick 3 draws and you will find 720 combinations where each digit is unique, 270 pairs and 10 triples. Even though there are more favorable outcomes if all 3 digits were different, there is no profit in playing 720 tickets... and the

classic questions on lottery forums
Tucker is right... the odds of any 3 digit number combination appearing in 1 draw are always 1,000:1
You can change the odds by buying another ticket, to 1,000:2 no division allowed though, as it represents the ratio of possible outcomes to favorable outcomes.
You can even change your perspective from a 3 digit combo to three consecutive games of 1 in 10, but the odds are still 1,000:1 in getting 3 in a row correct.
The probability math states that in a discrete uniform distribution

Pennsylvania Cash Pop Starting November 18 2025
Looking at their prizes, there are are 9 multipliers...
X5 - 1:31.05
X7 - 1:75
X10 - 1:105
X15 - 1:180, The level needed to break even on playing all 15
X20 - 1:270
X25 - 1:630
X50 - 1:2,250
X100 - 1:4,125
X250 - 1: 15,000
So the odds depend on which multiplier is assigned to which number, because the odds of the actual draw are 1:15.
So look at it like this... on $1 bet the odds are 15,000 to one on getting an x250 AND you need to beat the 15 to 1 odd

That's an interesting way of looking at it, regardless of the odds, we go for what has the most financial value.

Balancing Odds and Cost 😁
The odds of getting 5 out of 58 are 4,582,116 and they don't change just because there is a Millionaire ball.
