Buying MM or PB lottery tickets
KY Floyd
Nope, you will have 3 tickets, all of them up against odds of 22.5 million, the second and third ticket do not mreduce the odds by 7.5 million each.

Buying MM or PB lottery tickets
What game cost 3 dollars or less. With the chance to win 2 million dollars with better odds
Lots of state games. For a single ticket at a cost of $1 NY lotto has odds of about 1 in 22.5 million, but if you're going to spend $3 you can get 3 tickets and odds of 1 in 7.5 million. When it was hit last week the cash prize was about $7.3 million. That's more than 3 1/2 times as much money with a 50% better chance of winning it.
Let alone hundreds of millions...
If you're hoping to win m

Buying MM or PB lottery tickets
No MM.
PB...when I feel it's time, not necessarily jackpot amount. Depends on where the jackpot level on TX Lotto is. Right now it's Lotto time. If it gets hit, then I might switch to PB because 2nd prize odds are less than half Lotto odds.

Multi state games
I live in Florida therefore I could buy a Florida Lotto ticket. Currently, Florida Lotto's advertised jackpot is 3.2 million dollars. The odds of winning it are 22,957,480 to 1 .
I can also buy a PowerBall ticket. Given how I play 3 identical lines with the PowerPlay option added, if I matched 5+0, I could win 6 million dollars. The odds of winning PB's second place prize are 11,688,053 to 1 . So it's half as hard to win a PB second place prize of $6 million compared to winning a Florida Lo

Multi state games
Considering what the odds are for winning 2nd prize compared to the whole enchilada, that's not such a crazy idea.

New York- The Million Dollar Raffle
It would seem that New Yorkers don't really play raffle draws.
Maybe the big prize being just $1 Million was not enticing enough for the $20 cost.
Can't really blame 'em. For $20,I'd be looking for a bigger payout myself.
But the odds were 1 in 2 million compared to the big draw games odds.
Somewhere around only 40% of tickets were sold for this draw.
Great odds for the ones that did play though

New York- The Million Dollar Raffle
New York Lottery held a raffle-style drawing the concluded on October 26, 2025. Buy-in was $20/ticket and the game was advertised as the best odds to win $1,000,000; as the following indicates, those odds got remarkably better for those that played. Reportedly, only 791,352 of the planned 2,000,000 tickets were sold; this was over a many month marketing campaign. Apparently NYL took a bath as there were 15, $1,000,000 grand prize winners, 15, $100,000 second prize winners, 15, $25,000 third plac

Powerball and Mega Millions players are 96% LOSERS
@lottobrain, the MadDog challenge is 3168 = (12 choose 5)*(4 choose 1) TIMES easier to win the jokepot than the actual MM or PB lottos. So even with a 5+1 challenge win, odds are it will only translate to a 3+0 or 2+1 real life lotto win. With some luck, maybe a 3+1 real life win.
The value of the challenge is that it motivates people to discover ways to beat uniform random pick odds. So far, I've improved the odds by what translates to only a few extra 3 ball wins per year.
