Different totals in Jackpot Analysis
The annuity value is dependent on the yield on the bonds/treasuries the would fund the annuity. This changes week to week. The lottery or MUSL gets quotes to determine the annuity factor for each draw, to determine the cash value needed to provide the stated annuity value. With a higher interest rate (and better economy) the cash value required is lower for the same annuity value.
The relationship between the annuity and the cash value is also dependent on sales. Below around $90M annuity val

I know that this is technically not a lottery question, it's about PCH Sweepstakes bankruptcy .
So, Publisher's Clearinghouse had a Sweepstakes where if you win you were supposed to win millions of dollars for life through an annuity program. They even had an annuity program where when you die someone you chose as your heir, gets millions of dollars until they die. Recently and suddenly, PCH went bankrupt, leaving winners suddenly in financial ruin. One winner won the annuity Sweepstakes roughly 10 years ago and quit his job since he was promised millions of dollars until his death. He was

Is PB inferior to MM?
From players' perspective, because MM has higher cash value ratio than that of PB,MM might look more attractive than PB even when they have same amount of annuity jackpots. Can it be supported? That is, would MM be superior to PB even if two annuity jackpots are same? (Assumed one is lucky enough to buy each ticket for just $1 and applied currently available cash value ratios for MM and PB)1) (For just curiosity) At what amount of cash value, would the Expected Value(EV) be equal to $1, for e

Compromising on cash/annuity
The way I see it is that all lottery games should have cash or annuity option.
My complaint is when a winner chooses annuity they and their heirs are locked in to annuity.
They hould have options after taking annuity.
At some point after taking annuity the reciever or their heirs of the annuity should have an option to turn the annuity in to cash value with no penalties on the principal remaining.
There are many annuity buyers out there who buy from receivers of annuities at a large di

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
The cash value is only running at 10% of what it would be when it was at $2.00 a line.
What are you failing to say correctly? Both annuity and cash value are lagging behind previous runs, but the cash value, as always, is the percentage of the annuity that it necessary to pay for the annuity. Right now that's about 44.3%. Although the MM jackpot may be lagging behind previous MM runs it's well ahead of PB on a per drawing basis. When the previous MM run was hit on the 21st drawing the adver
