That's my thought too. I've seen several winners here who got no press when they won a few hundred thousand, but when they win again even if it's just 50K it suddenly becomes news. Since I live in a non-anonymous state, that would concern me.

If I lived in a non anonymous state like California, I would still very minimally check with a lottery attorney to see if I missed anything even if I was 99.9 % certain of the answer. After that, yea just a tax attorney and financial expert. I would bring them with me to claim just to take the photo focus off of one person. But I am overly cautious.

Should I ever be so lucky,,,, I want to remain anonymous for a longer period of time than what Florida's statutes temporarily allow for. I can't think of any reason why I couldn't. Obviously this is a question for an estate attorney. Doubt I'd hit the claim office prior to talking to a lawyer. Counting chickens before they even hatch! G5

Something is rotten in the state of Michigan
As I do every morning I read the news on the Michigan website. Today they have a picture of a winning Fantasy 5 ticket. At the top of the ticket it says it was printed at 2:30:06 and underneath the EZ match section it says 4:30:06 Also all the EZ Match prizes are $4! The Michigan Fantasy 5 is an RNG game. State income tax applies to the state in which you live at the time you gain constructive receipt or the economic benefit of the money.
