What do you spend max to lottery per week?

What is your weekly or monthly lottery budget?
Hi All,
Just wondering what everyone is spending each week or month on various lotteries. I am working from home and not buying lunch at the local burger or taco joint. In lieu of buying lunch, I spend about $30-40 each week to buy lottery tickets, this includes buying with winning tickets. I buy scratchers one week and draws games the other week.

Is the Annuity payout safe?
this actually happened in illinois a decade ago. https://www.illinoispolicy.org/illinois-comptroller-the-state-will-stop-payments-to-lottery-winners-if-budget-stalemate-drags-on/
but they eventually resumed paying people. in illinois's case, it was a budget problem. in texas's case, you got a lot of cranks in the texas state legislature who want the lottery shut down all because some out of state bulk buying group won a jackpot. in any case the state will still have to pay out prizes they s

The lottery has made me lose myself, how can I save myself?
It's about self control. I sometimes refer to buying a lottery ticket as feeding the monster .
You can't overfeed the monster. I did for several years. But I also kept track of my spending. One year I spent over $2600 on lottery tickets. At the end of the year I realized how stupid it was and decided to reel it in. I have a budget that I keep. Just today at work I was leaving and walked by the lottery vending machine. I stopped and stared at the scratch offs for a minute and was about to pl

The lottery has made me lose myself, how can I save myself?
When you find that you have lost yourself or frustrated with the lottery. And I live in Canada. So what I do is I take a break from the lottery. Sometime's for up to a week. Some people may need a longer break than that. And when I feel less uncomfortable with myself and the lottery. I take a chance. And buy 1 or 2 ticket's. And that is all. I want to budget my money. Some time's I win. Other day's I have lost on a ticket. Lottery game's are not easy for alot of people. I tend to be too hard on

Play a large number of tickets once a month or a few tickets every drawing?
I used to play one ticket of each, for every drawing.
I am scaling back. I haven't set my new budget yet but my previous budget was $29 a week.
I may bring that down to $14 a week maybe.

Rising Gas Prices and the Lottery
I always play the lottery with budget caution. This way when times like this come around, I can still play. You gotta be in it to win!

Winning the Powerball.
Uncle Sam sure takes his fair share (47.9%). Would love to know where this money truly goes. If it were to the States operating budget why do we still have sub-par public schools, crappy roads and bridges and cities not thriving? Things that make you go ....hmmm.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Personally I don't knock those that play MM. Everyone has their own reasons for playing or not playing MM, whether it's indignation at paying $5, or the ones that will pay $5 because the jackpot is still life changing. Back in the day when my wife and I were pulling down plenty of money to cover bills and had enough left over for entertainment, I would play all the lottery games. These days I'm pretty stuck on a budget, and that means picking which games to play and which games not to play. To e

Do you care about hitting box on pick 3?
For many years, my goal has been picking one straight combo. I had considered that a box hit meant I was still wrong with the attempt.
These days, instead of spending that $1 on a straight shot, I go 0.50/0.50 because boxes do happen more frequently than straight hits. I agree that it is not exciting, but when I limit my budget to $14 a week (Pick 3 mid day and evening), that $40 (or $80) leads to a few weeks on the house.
I have taken many breaks (years at a time in some cases) and alwa
