Is the Annuity payout safe?
this actually happened in illinois a decade ago. https://www.illinoispolicy.org/illinois-comptroller-the-state-will-stop-payments-to-lottery-winners-if-budget-stalemate-drags-on/
but they eventually resumed paying people. in illinois's case, it was a budget problem. in texas's case, you got a lot of cranks in the texas state legislature who want the lottery shut down all because some out of state bulk buying group won a jackpot. in any case the state will still have to pay out prizes they s

Rising Gas Prices and the Lottery
I always play the lottery with budget caution. This way when times like this come around, I can still play. You gotta be in it to win!

Secrets of a lottery lawyer-Kurt Panouses interview
18 to 20 k for a routine $1 million to around 10 million $ win.
The 1% fee is for large wins and includes the team of professionals. The 1% is the total amount a large winner should budget for all the legal and financial advice needed for that year.

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
Thanks. Nice to know info.
I haven't yet exhausted my lottery budget for March, so I was thinking that I'd buy one more ticket on Tuesday just so I could gage how ticket sales have been going. But maybe not now! 20 bucks a pop is kinda pricey just to get a handle on how ticket sales are going. G5

Lucky For Life to Millionaire For Life - $5 Ticket
Same here @ saving money. I mostly just play one number every draw. When it gets high I buy an extra ticket or two. So in the long run I'm still saving. I'm no longer buying twenty dollars or more when the jackpot gets high. With this new game. I might get bored and buy a ticket on a Thursday or Sunday. But it's gonna be on a rare occasion. Mabye I will budget in for two tickets a month or something like that. I dunno I really haven't looked into the game. I'll figure something out. But anyways.

Following up on the (now locked) Neural Net Lottery Picker thread — the backtest problem
What I do know about testing lottery software, is you grind your way through the draw history seeing if there is any path to a winning combination(s) over a budget able length of play. If the lottery eludes every prediction, move on, try another prediction engine. One upcoming problem is name brand AI has been implanted with the notion selecting winners is impossible and it should only look to sites that are expert in the field, ie: random. When the day comes it can write decent software, it wil

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
To each his or her own.
Twenty bucks a throw is steep. That's why whenever there's a raffle (which isn't all that often) I cut back on the other lottery games I regularly play. That's what keeps me from over spending my monthly lottery budget.
My thinking is the 20 dollar ticket price is a premium players have to pay for the greatly reduced odds of winning a top prize, not to mention there's a guaranteed jackpot winner(s). Many is the time I've heard a player say about a raffle Players

My pool of one has been buying a ticket at least every week.
Since the changes to the game, I have gotten a X10 once and have won once as well.
Keeping hope alive and only spending withing my budget.
Yet to get my Tuesday ticket but I will - $98M after taxes ain't bad

Lottery Phobias
It's been said that the first step to addressing a problem is admitting you have a problem.
For many years I played a lot of $ on the lottery. Admittedly, I won more money then than I do now, but I lost a lot more than I do now. Several years ago I spent over $2700 in one year. There may be some that say that's not that much . Well, I made pretty good money, wife made decent money. We could afford it, but at the end of the year I thought about what I could have done with it. So for the last

Against my better judgement,,,,,,,,
I was in Publix late this aftrenoon, and I just couldn't resist the temptation to.................... (especially when I saw that twenty dollar bill in my wallet that wasn't earmarked for anything! Actually I realized that it was what was left of my March Lottery budget funds so I figured what the Hell!)
A Fool and his money you're scoffing at me????? Sheeeeee-yit! I say!
