my idea for a multi-state lottery
My idea is to have a game that costs $1.00. The buy 5, get one free is similar to promotions that lotteries run, but make this a permanent part of the game. For those who don't mind spending $5 on a progressive draw game, they get an extra chance to win. $20 million isn't as much as hundreds of millions, but it's still life-changing. It's about the same as MM starting jackpot but without the absurdly low chances of winning. 1 in 18 million instead of 1 in 300 million. More frequent winners i

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
We have our pool tickets for the next Mega Millions draw. This time we got one ticket with a 5 times multiplier and one ticket with a 10 times multiplier. It is great getting the bigger multipliers but we need them to hit. We had a lot of larger multipliers in the previous draw but none of them hit. I may be the only one on this site that likes the Mega Millions game. There is a simple reason why I like the game. It costs me very little to play and there is the potential to win a life chang

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Was there Another $10 million scheduled rollover for the MM???. Is that number 9 ? They may want to consider just changing the game to an RNG, so they can save money and not prop up the rollovers for those that participate.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
I think what winoneday meant was that it was bad luck for the house. In the long run, the average jackpot won will equal the expected value. In a game like this, a drawing every few days with odds of 1 in 300 million, the long run could be many years. In a short period of time, the players can be lucky which means the house (MUSL) is unlucky. Unlike other games like pick 3 or any table game or slot machine in a casino, where more jackpots are good for business because the long run for th

Lucky For Life to Millionaire For Life - $5 Ticket
I re-did the calculations and it's the typical draw game, in terms of payback %. But it is still far better than MM, in my opinion. Here's why: Probability of winning the top prize is just over 12 times better. $18 million (or the annuity of $1 million/year) is still life-changing money. M4L (Millionaire for Life) has no silly multipliers. You win exactly what it says on the prize chart for matching x number of balls. MM (and PB) is a progressive jackpot game, which is why it can

You Can't Lose If You Don't Play
As an occasional Clown, I here and now admit that I have down voted a few of your posts. Only the ones in which you proclaimed yourself the Greatest I know most of those posts followed receiving the wrath of a few of the folks here on LP. This time I up voted your post. I have not worked on Pick 3 in a very long time. Once upon a time, I created quite a few Excel files that filtered Pick 3 by just about every Idea presented here on the Forum. Shout out to Winsulosum for creating a file

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
I bought a bunch of Powerball tickets for the last drawing when the annuity jackpot was $2 billion. I normally don't play that game because the odds of winning are approximately zero. For the same price, I can get far better odds of winning less money but still life changing money. I was willing to try it because it would be fun to spend $600 million in today's money after tax. For Megamillions, the equivalent annuity jackpot would have to be $5 billion for me to play (even then, maybe not,

my idea for a multi-state lottery
1) Choose 6 numbers from 1 to 68. 2) Tickets cost $1. 3) Match all 6 to win the jackpot, which starts at $25 million. 4) 10 cents of each ticket gets added to the jackpot. 5) Match 5 of 6 to win the 2nd prize of $100,000. 6) Buy 5, get one free. For $5, you get 6 lines, which is either 6 QP or your playslip of 5 sets of 6 numbers plus one QP. 7) Both prizes are all cash (subject to taxes, of course, we can't get around that). No annuity BS. If you win $25 million and want
