part of the problem with computerized drawings is that state lotteries use third party vendors to make overly elaborate computer programs that the lottery employees themselves cannot easily audit because they're run on some proprietary systems. an eighth grader could write a simple python or javascript program to generate lottery numbers. this is not difficult stuff. and it would be cheaper to do this in-house. but probably some lottery officials get kickbacks for outsourcing every single l
