A federal crime is a federal crime. Whether he chose to release his returns is irrelevant to the lawsuit.

It didn't happen in St. Louis or Kansas City. It happened in a low crime area at a place you would never expect.

Money and the Crime of Kidnaping
Time was spent looking for a safe and other assets.
That statement is a tell . The kidnapper spent 41 minutes in the house! Kidnapping is a grab and go crime except in this case it wasn't. This crime was pre-planned and executed according to that plan.
To add insult to injury regarding this crime, the turf war between The Pima County Sheriff's Office and The FBI is BRUTAL! A woman's life is at stake and those morons are fighting over who's in charge?? THE PCSO needs to go sit down in a

Unfortunately I've been following the national news very closely regarding the Nancy Guthrie case.
I saw some discussion with an FBI expert on the crime of kidnapping about a ransom having already been paid or a ransom The Guthrie family had issued a statement saying We'll pay.
The FBI kidnapping expert said People of middle class means do get kidnapped, but it's a crime the wealthy are especially sensitive to.

I can always tell people who do not have a dollar to their name or do not read anything beyond a headline. It is a Federal crime for an IRS employee to access any tax return without authorization, let alone release it outside of the IRS.
I would be taking legal action as well if it happened to me.

Money and the Crime of Kidnaping
You would be surprised at the number of people, even well educated, who do not understand basic tech with security cams. I have had neighbors think my nestcams were fake. I do think she was targeted for having a famous daughter. I think it was likely someone who did work for the family like a landscaper. They copied a key and went in the back door. Then time was spent looking for a safe and other assets. And it is possible she recognized the criminals . I heard one talking head say this would ex

Money and the Crime of Kidnaping
Like so many people in The USA, I've been closely following the national news kidnapping story coming out of Arizona. I saw one particular former detective being interviewed about the Ring Doorbell video that's been shown so many times.
The Detective said Most criminals think they are smarter than anybody else, but this guy might be a little different in that he actually is smart. While he probably is smart, he's not smarter than The FBI criminalist's trying to catch him.
And there you
