For your first point, I agree. The probability of three, not to mention five consecutive numbers is highly unlikely to the point I would eliminate those choices from the possible combinations. However, the probability of making all the correct ~28ish guesses in your elimination process is very similar to the lottery's 1 in 292 million, not to mention I don't trust intuition that much. Hey everyone, I ve been pondering an interesting question: Why hasn t anyone created a widely recognized system for playing Powerball, Mega Millions, or similar lotteries? The odds seem astronomical 1 in 292,201,338 for Powerball but when you think about it, the problem might not be as unsolvable as it seems.
