North Carolina lottery winners of $5 million and more could remain anonymous
It actually tends to have the opposite effect. Virginia moved to anonymity years ago for wins of over $10 million years ago and had increasing online sales. They had banner years and then moved to lower the anonymity to wins of $1 million and over. The biggest threat to the integrity of the lottery are lottery clerks and lottery employees.

New Jersey Lottery proposes rules regulating courier services to allow them to operate
I think this is New Jersey's way of allowing online sales without weakening the retailer model. You can see in the story that they are even forcing couriers to maintain their designated lottery terminal within a traditional retailer's premises. For states that have too powerful of a retailer lobby, this is a good way to go. Banning is bad and unnecessary.

Colorado passes law that allows online lottery but bans credit card ticket purchases
I welcome the idea of being able to purchase your lotteries online. I do, 100% support the idea of not allowing purchases to be made on credit. I don't think anyone should be playing any lottery with borrowed money. It's a recipe for financial ruin and predatory loans.

Elderly Washington woman loses her home and $600,000 to Jamaican lottery scammer
Poor woman. There are also people far younger that fall victim to the same scams. If someone asks you for money online or via a call, it is a scam. The rare scam call that I pick up ends up with the scammer hanging up after I ask him psych related questions. What motivates you to do these scams? How was your childhood? Were you bullied in school? I really think low self esteem , being unhappy, and living in a fantasy world has something to do with it. Years ago there was a Dateline episode

A North Carolina resident was participating in the nightly ritual she shared with her family one evening when it inspired her to play the lottery and subsequently win a $1.2 million prize. Colorado bill would ban credit card lottery ticket purchases and online sales
I believe they should continue online sales, but bank ach or debit card, not credit cards. That way, disabled or home bound can purchase if they want. I don't get the statement about about lottery losing money. There always trying to create new games to get ppl to play/buy (aka get addicted imo). If they lost money, what would they lose out on? Schools supposed to get part of it but I was told if examples a school budget is $30000 for the year and lottery spending give them $20000, that 20g is no

Florida man arrested after attempting to cash stolen $115,000 Fantasy 5 lottery ticket
I think Tony Numbers post contains the most likely explanation of how the ticket was stolen. Fanatsy5 is a daily online game with two drawings per day so the ticket purchase and the drawing had to have taken place prior to October 2nd. What I can't figure out is if the guy that originally bought the ticket took the gas station owners word for it that it was a loser, how did he learn on October 2nd the gas station owner had lied to him and that it was really a $115 jackpot winner? Especially
