No winner again: Powerball jackpot hits $1.6 billion in longest-ever rollover run
I would venture to say those same people wouldn't want to be the new record holder because with that comes media attention ie everyone here knows of Edwin Castro.
We hear about things Castro does, but have you seen anything to indicate that he's having problems because people know who he is? I think Castro made a mistake in not taking steps to protect his identity, but that doesn't mean the rest of us can't.
As for how much somebody might win, even fairly modest amounts can cause probl

$1.1 BILLION: Powerball jackpot increased in longest-ever winless streak
@ShagE3 Yes, you'd have to establish residency in the new state - buy or rent a property, set up utilities with a billing record, transfer driver licence car rego etc etc - and this wouldn't be quick or cheap. Unless you had money lying around, you'd have to sell your place in the old state first, to fund the shift to the new state. 180 days would be doable, 90 days probably not. If you knew you were going to claim a huge prize, you could sell your current property on the cheap to facilitate a q

Mega Millions jackpot closes in on $1 billion
Of course they will sell fewer tickets because of the higher price. That is a given. The real analysis is how fast the jackpot grows due to dollars spent. And in that regard, I'd say it's growing slower than before.
Correct. Players are currently voting with their dollars with jackpots at levels we've seen in the past. But how will they vote with their dollars should MM set a new jackpot record? That's what we haven't seen yet. I think eventually that will happen, and it should be interesti

Three $1 million winning Powerball lottery tickets sold at the same New York store
is it mandatory for those second place winners to have at least their names appear?
The lottery thinks so, but they might be wrong. A lawsuit in NH struck down the lottery's claimed rule that state law required them to release the names. The law the lottery relied on was a sunshine law requiring the state to make public the names of entities they did business with. The judge ruled that the law was intended to make state business, such as building contracts and other things public. I've got

Lotto Max to undergo significant game changes, price increase
Bigger jackpots, but they're harder to win
By Kate Northrop
The multi-province Lotto Max game is getting an overhaul this spring, which will include a bigger jackpot cap, additional $100,000 prizes with every draw, and a ticket price increase.
Lotto Max, the multi-province draw game of Canadian lotteries, is set to deliver higher jackpots, additional prizes, and more lines per play, all at the cost of a ticket price increase and more difficult odds at hitting the jackpot.

$1.8 billion Powerball jackpot to be split by two tickets sold in Missouri and Texas
This is interesting....
It will be 30 more draws on MM before Christmas 2025...
(Right now it is at 19 draws with est. $358M)
Now I am curious to see how many draws it will take for a new record.

$1.8 BILLION: Powerball jackpot now second-largest ever as ticket sales surge across the USA
I thought maybe 1.85 bil but you know the lotto bigwigs don't want to be criticized for stoking the flames of lottomania.
Frankly I feel it would be nice to win it a dollar short of Edwin Castro record. Let him have all the attention ie headaches.
He can have his filet mignon and I'll have my Salisbury steak .....

$1.7 BILLION: Powerball jackpot juggernaut keeps rolling
Thank you for that wealth of information! We have had tons of $2, $4, or $10 ticket winners over the many years and only won $50 3 times but never $100 under the old matrix and when the tickets were $1 rather Powerball or mega. Through out the years we started winning bunch of $4'ticket prizes or sometimes several $7 ticket prizes but never ever crossed pass $50. As far the return rate I appreciate you breaking that down but never ever got close to any $50k return rate so that should tell you so
