One Ticket Wins $21.7 Million Oregon Megabucks Jackpot
One person won the $21.7 million jackpot Monday night in the Oregon Lottery's Megabucks lotto game, returning the jackpot to $1 million for Wednesday's drawing.Spokeswoman Laurie Machado said 18 tickets bearing five of the six winning numbers were sold, worth $593.40 apiece when redeemed at the lottery's office in Salem in person or by mail.She said 954 tickets bearing four winning numbers were sold, good for $34.20 each at any Megabucks dealer.The winning numbers in the drawing were:1-4-7-8-28-

Lottery scammer who later won shot, killed
A Fort Lauderdale man who once went to jail for making fake lottery tickets and then won a million-dollar prize for real died from a gunshot wound. Anthony Soltys, convicted felon and instant millionaire, died as mysteriously as he lived. Soltys died Friday afternoon from a gunshot wound he received the night before in Fort Lauderdale. A South Florida elderly woman was scammed out of thousands of dollars in an alleged lottery ticket scam, police said. Pembroke Pines police said that on Oct. 24 Aydee Suarez-Ospina, 72, was approached by the a Hispanic man and woman at the Bravo Supermarket at 12141 Pembroke Road.
