Republican leaders of the Alaska state House are pushing ahead on video poker and a state lottery and are pointing to a new poll as evidence that Alaskans are interested in more gambling. Poll: More than two-thirds of Alabamians favor lottery
A recent poll shows that more than two-thirds of Alabamians support a state lottery to benefit public education, which an overwhelming majority said is a high priority for them.The random telephone poll of 609 voting-age Alabamians, conducted by the Center for Governmental Services at Auburn University, found that 55.1 percent of respondents strongly support an education lottery and an additional 13.8 percent support it, bringing the figure to 68.9 percent in favor.About 24.6 percent of thos

Lottery CEO fired one day after poll
fThe president of the B.C. Lottery Corporation was fired one day after an internal poll last May showed public trust in the corporation had plummeted in the wake of a warning by the province's Ombudsman of possible fraud by some retailers.

Arkansas poll shows more support for lottery than higher taxes
A poll shows that most Arkansans would not support increased income taxes to pay for education reform, and about half oppose a sales tax increase, but many are willing to take a chance on a lottery.The poll was conducted by Opinion Research Associates Incorporated of Little Rock for the Stephens Media Group.
