A Florida man was arrested after attempting to cash in a stolen Florida Lottery Fantasy 5 ticket worth more than $115,000.

His uncle owns the gas station where the ticket was purchased. Probably the buyer of the winner asked the uncle( owner) to verify the ticket, then he probably told him its a losing ticket, Probably didn't return said ticket then the purchaser reported it stolen . What is puzzling is why this wasn't resolved on October 2 nd the day of the reported theft

it was the first time a big winner was amongst the rejected pile.
I think I remember a similar story in the past, but it's not a good enough memory to be very confident. Memory aside, probability suggest that it would he been for a smaller amount prize.
I'm obviously not a lawyer but it's pretty obvious that the ticket belongs to the store.
It was unsold at the time of the draw therefore the store had to buy it.
