Curious where the practical line is. Such practical line does exist. It's called the wheel hit rate. For the examples demonstrated above, for 12 numbers the average (expected) hit rates for PB MM are 0.87 and 0.86 respectively. You can get the same rates with only 3 tickets in each lottery, not hundreds. To have an expected hit rate of 3 (as required by the above wheels) you need 42 numbers for each lottery.
