How about just playing the daily number draw games like Fantasy 5, Cash 3, Play 4, Pick 5, and Pick 2? You can play one of those each day and not break the bank.

Ahh, I am sure your strategy was to get 50 separate tickets than many of the same bet on one tic..so you would still be 600 to avoid a trip to your local lottery office ..you'd do very well here in MA which has the best payouts for pick 3/4. Pick 3 ranges from 600-900 which is pretty good for a 1:1000 odds. I used to bet the same way for Pick 5 whose top prize is 100K, Used to buy 10 tix of my bdays/anniv numbers..10 of the same ticket because they only give a maximum of 10 $100K prizes per draw

Really? Hmm...I kinda thought the odds were better with scratch offs. I'm not addicted to them, but it's more exciting and usually better payoff. But $10, $20 and $30 wins here and there is kinda time consuming for the payout. So I might be considering dropping all the cheaper scratch tickets. The draw games haven't given me any more than $28 prize when I played fantasy 5 a few months ago. The state I live in, there's only the 3X daily pick 3 and pick 4. I hate those games. The most I ever won on a scratcher was $200 on NY's $10 Win For Life card, and I had bought two from the machine. The second card hit for $25! Tecnhically it could, but the odds of it happening are pretty low..... I mean if the odds are similar to a Pick 5 game of winning the top tier prizes, it's the equivalent of buying a Pick 5 a day for 150 days, and winning 5 times. And I don't think that's ever happened...

Usually when I get a smaller wins like $20 or $30, I'll put some of that into Fantasy 5 or Pick 5. I figure it is a type of diversification of risk. I had one really close call with the Fantasy 5 but otherwise I mostly end up with duds on the drawing games because of their difficult odds of winning a decent prize. With my luck, after all these years of playing scratch-offs, I'll probably get my biggest win on a drawing game.

You read it wrong. Our $2 ticket offers $1000 a week for life. So far 2 of 10 of those have been hit. There is a new game called Lucky for Life that offers a grand prize of $1000 a day for life and a Massachusetts man did hit that jackpot on the games inaugrual draw last week but the game is not a scratch ticket. (pick 5/40 and lucky ball 1/21) Game is offered by all 6 NE states.
