Pick 3/4 Trade Secret. once read you must keep it a Secret
I think ODDS , when explained in strategy-wise will be more appealing, mathematics are facts and facts can be intimidating. I have this approach about ODDS odds in favor and odds against, their just the flip side of a coin. Let say on every 100 draws of P4 , my success is just 20, then my odds in favor 20/80 and against will be 80/20, then my strategy will be towards 20/80. Probability is a fluid concept, depending on DATA , it can be adjusted ( Bayesian -priors) when updating, these also change

Buying More Tickets Does Not Increase Your Odds.
You got my post wrong buddy. Let's say you put up 1 million dollars. You charge me $1 to cover a number - say the number three - and give me one roll to roll the number 3 for the million. My odds of winning are 1 in 6. Now lets say instead I buy 5 numbers - 1,2,3,4,5 and I get that same one roll for the million. My odds of winning the million are now 5 in 6. In the first example the odds of rolling a 3 is still 1 in 6 as are my odds of winning. In the second example the odds of rolling a three a

First time buying a roll: Tennessee's $3M Mega Cash
Sorry you had the bad luck. Here is how Georgia law reads as far as how much they are required to return to customers:
50-27-13. Disposition of lottery proceeds; budget report by Governor; appropriations by General Assembly; shortfall reserve subaccount
(a)(1) All lottery proceeds shall be the property of the corporation.
(2) From its lottery proceeds the corporation shall pay the operating expenses of the corporation. As nearly as practical, at least 45 percent of the amount o

THE LOTTERY BEST KEPT SECRET=Buying more than one ticket increases your chances of winning?
You are confusing odds with chances. When you hold more than one ticket you increase your chances of winning.ONLY THE LOTTERY CAN INCREASE OR DECREASE YOUR ODDS OF WINNING BY CHANGING THE MATRIX OF THE GAME YOU PLAY.Mega millions odds 1 in 175 millions and POWERBALL odds 1 in 195 millions are always fixed against every combination purchased. But you can increase your chances by buying more tickets. That's my understanding. Some players try to change the matrix of the games on their own by wheeling a

Lotteries long for 'jackpot fever'
Just because someone here doesn't understand the odds doesn't mean that most players don't understand. I think more than half of the players have a good idea want the odds mean, but almost everyone knows that when they hear that the odds are going to be raised that it means they are going to have less of a chance of winning. I know my wife doesn't consider the odds, but I am the one that buys the tickets. I think that maybe 25% of the regular players don't care about the odds, another 25% don

Lotteries long for 'jackpot fever'
The odds are long either way, but yes people are smart enough to know that 75million:1 odds are much better than 150million:1. Whether it's rational to play at all is another question altogether. If your suggesting the odds don't matter then why not just up them to 500million:1? You think people would still play? The fact is that odds do matter, but more importantly odds changes matter more. People know when they increase the odds 25 percent that what is really happening is that players are

Odds Don't Change When Jackpot Goes UP
The real problem here is that ODDS are being confused for PROBABILITY and the two are being used interchangeably...
Buy 1 Pick 3 combination the ODDS are 1 in 1000 or 1:999. The PROBABILITY is .001 ...written as a fraction, that decimal becomes 1/1000. As a percent it is .1% (one tenth of one-percent).
Buy two different Pick 3 combinations the ODDS are 2 in 1000 or 2:998. The PROBABILITY IS .002, written as a fraction it equals 2/1000 or 1 in 500 reduced. Whether reduced are left alone,

If you are going to buy 46+ tickets.....
You're understanding of these games and odds are incorrect. Odds in Megamillions are roughly 1:175 million. This is made up of two discrete events. The white balls (5 numbers 1-56) with odds about 1:3.8 million multiplied by another independent event, the Mega ball (one nuimber 1-46). This is how the odds are calculated in this type of event. Eliminating one event (the megaballs) only leaves the 5/56 game. It's not that hard once you think about it awhile. In games with only one event (a 5/49 or

Lottery odds are not as bad as you think
ok if you play MM or your state lottery the odds of winning the jackpot are like 1:82,398,498 (i don't know the real number) but its a high one, anyways i was thinking the odds of hitting can't be that high, because think about this every time there is a draw the odds go down by one because once a combination of numbers is drawn then it will never come up again, what are the odds of a combination comming up 2 times ever? had it ever happend? so if you had the time you could find out all the comb

New Pb MM odds of winning
With the odds of both games getting close to 170 million to one, who in thier right mind is going to put money on the games when the jackpots are under 50 million. I guess some people don't care about the odds compared to jackpot chances. Some people might play for second tier prizes, but if your going to do that you might was well play pick 5 games where your odds are better and most of the time you'd get more money. I personally won't play more than 2 dollars till the jackpot gets over 150 mil
