Getting new balls
Powerball has not changed the Red Ballset since March 2006, or the White Ballset since August 2005, and as random as the numbers have been for the last six months, they don't need to.
FYI they have four different ballsets of each that they rotate every drawing, and four or six different machines they rotate between every drawing night as well.
They do not announce which ballset or machine they will use until the ticket machines are shut down prior to the drawing.
FWIW I have paid VERY

Mass. Lottery knew about exploited game's flaws for years, IG says
Massachusetts State Lottery officials knew for years that a small group of gambling syndicates had virtually taken over a game called Cash WinFall winning most of the prizes during high payoff periods but did nothing about it until the local media began investigating, according to state Inspector General Gregory W. Sullivan.
Sullivan's report details the way a handful of math and science wizards, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology undergraduates looking for an interesting school

Scratch Off Theories.. Fact Or Fiction?
Two thoughts here.
First..
I have a friend who owns the local party store. Sells lotto and scratch offs. He says in our area (small population) he doesn't activate the $10 and $20 tickets since he says from history no one buys them.. but the state continually sends them to him. So they sit in the back room til he sends them back... possibly months.
So, how many of those rolls do you think have big winners on them? He thinks the state knows he has history of not activating, so they sen

Washington Lottery to debut new ticket machines
Washington lottery players can expect new green tickets July 2, the date the state-run gambling enterprise switches to new machines in its retail outlets.
The switch comes at a time the state Lottery is struggling to maintain its share of the state's exploding gambling market. But the change is not expected to boost the state's shrinking share of the $1.7 billion that gamblers lose each year in Washington.
The change in ticket stock is tied to the installation of new ticket-dispensing mac

Record Mass. Lottery sales, despite high fuel prices
Bob Hurtubise mused Thursday about what he would do if he hit it big on a Lottery game.
The Ashburnham, Massachusetts, resident would buy a nice house and secure savings for his kids, he said.
I'll play a quick pick on big number games, Hurtubise said. But I'll just play one. If you're doing any more than that, you're just making donations.
Now that gas prices have reached nearly $3 per gallon, he guessed more people will hold onto their cash for other expenses.
That money's

Woman claims Publix cashier threw away winning lotto ticket
Bullcrap! The ticket was accidentally thrown away Thats bullcrap! I believe the cashier kept the winning ticket after seeing it was the winner and lied by saying it was accidentally thrown it away. Why would they tell her never to come back to the store again, thats cold hearted and wrong why should she not be allowed back in the store if they are the jerks who made the mistake by throwing away her $800.00 winning lottery ticket and when you make a mistake YOU should pay so if this case were eve

[UPDATE] D.C. woman who tried to redeem faulty ticket admitted to forging second 'winner'
By Todd Northrop
A Washington, D.C. woman who enlisted the help of local media to try and claim a faulty Virginia Lottery scratch-off ticket actually tried to claim a second lottery ticket of the same exact game that she admitted was a forgery.
Lottery Post reported Wednesday morning that Ardella Newman of Washington, D.C. is taking the Virginia Lottery to task for denying her claim of a scratch-off ticket that she claims is worth $20,000. The Virginia Lottery had issued a statement that t

A crazy lottery story
I had an issue with a vending machine this past Saturday. I usually play the same #'s for Power ball so I will use the same play ticket a few times, well this past Saturday the machine ate my ticket. I mean I got my money back and just filled out another ticket. But I guess even though the ticket was in good condition they can maybe still feel worn out according to the machine. Now sure otherwise why it would eat it.

Post your scratch ticket results
I was down in Matt's neck of the woods and got some tickets. I will scratch them later tonight. This was at a Wegman's . They had 2 machines. The one machine had a bill acceptor error. I went to the other machine and one ticket was #12. I like ticket #13, so I got the next one and it was 11. I also saw one $20 ticket was on 25 and was going to finish the pack but it went down to 24 as the next.. This is the only time I have ever seen a machine loaded backwards. Also my last ticket was a $5 Aces
