N.M. Lottery Director Resigns; Could Become N.C. Lottery Chief
Actually, it makes me rather nervous, because New Mexico is an all-computerized state, and I would be very concerned if I were a N.C. resident with the impending possibility that he would take those awful computerized contraptions to North Carolina.North Carolina residents need to nip that in the bud, before it even comes up for discussion. Do not stop writing and calling the Governor's office to let them know that they need to avoid computerized drawings at all costs. Write, write, write -- ev

"Taping" in advance & Conspiracy Theories
I guess that someone could do that, but all the lottery would have to say is that for the preservation of financial integrity, limits are placed on certain bets when the number of bets reaches a maximum threshold. It's all they have to do to cover their a$$es, and there's nothing the media could do about it, unless someone did some serious investigating.Lottery machines can be programmed to do whatever the lottery wants them to do. If it's rejecting bet slips, limiting certain numbers, what ha

Sign the petition - eliminate computerized drawings!
I find it interesting if a state is willing to go to computerized multi state lotteries and feel they are safe , how do these same states justify not being able to buy tickets online within your OWN state because of all the fraud potential. (if you write your state lottery that doesn't sell tickets online and ask them why you can't buy a subscription online from them, listen to what they tell you)---it sounds like a contradiction to the security of computerized drawings. Maybe this point can

Which 2 states are joining which lottery games? As far as a petition goes, have petitions ever been effective for anything? (I would like the petition to be successful, but am wondering if something more proactive needs to be done to keep the system from changing to computerized drawings). I don't trust a computerized game either because even a random generator has to have logical code written. Today I tried the random number generator for powerball on this website and got the same powerball num

No more systems disscussed
And the states with computerized drawings can do anything they want to fiddle with the system now and who would know? They don't need to look for people discussing systems.Besides, there is no system out there that works 100% of the time and there likely will nver be. Tntea, I think you are just getting input from paraoid people. I can remember way back when, when there were people that were convinced that the govt putting flouride in our water was a Communist plot !(for those who don't know..

Since you only have 4 posts so far, I'm not sure if you are asking genuine questions, or if you're another pseudonym made up by the same person who keeps signing up under different names, but I'll explain, hopefully for the last time, that randomness plays only a small part in the case against computerized drawings. All this is clearly spelled out in the petition, and I'm sure you've read it, which is why I have my suspicions about everyone that comes here spouting off about randomness being a bi

You know, I'm not going to accept your turning this around on me. I have every same right you do to have a strong opinion, and I'm expressing mine.I have not limited your ability to spread your opinions, as wrong as they might be, and I don't appreciate the implication that I am doing that.I also don't appreciate that you seem to be saying that there is something wrong with me saying what's on my mind. What, am I supposed to sit here and listen to your support for computerized drawings and not s

computer states switching back to balls
Lottomike, what would compel the legislators in any state to do this? It certainly won't happen at a Federal level ; which would be required to affect all states.Politicians don't do anything unless their butt is personally in danger. (read that as their personal future ). If it is something that can get them re-elected if they do it, or something that can stop their re-election if they don't do it, then they take action. Those are the only motivating factors for any politician. The Fed politi

I Hate Computerized Drawings
People can say whatever they want on whatever lottery game they want. I have no problem with CO pushing his hate of NY Lotto, and it would never enter my mind to ask him (or anyone) to limit their writing of their opinion on games. Heck, I even let that employee of the computerized drawing company write all that BS about how great computerized drawings are, with no thought of censoring his opinion.I just want to keep the forum a little family-friendly , because , believe it or not, some peopl

Another high second prize payout for PB!!
I'll bet the reason there was no jackpot winner is because the Powerball was the same number as one of the first five. Note that all six numbers were birthdates. Just my luck though. Five out of the six numbers on my quick pick were NOT birth dates, and even the one that was did not turn up. I can't believe that with so many second place winners, my state (Iowa) did not have one - Iowa didn't even have any third place winners! Hopefully, this does not happen again this year, otherwise the
