After what happened with Hot Lotto I can see why they would not want to be associated with PowerBall. As for the new Multi State game I hope the odds and prizes are decent. Maybe some day they may even split up the power plier into a Big-a-plier for Second prize (or maybe second and third prizes) and a small-a-plier for Fourth and lower prizes (or maybe third and lower prizes). That way the player can decide if the odds warrant spending an extra Dollar or Two to go for the bigaplied

This is the first time though, that Mega Millions is still at a minimum jackpot after three draws without a winner (the $15 million plus the three minimum increases of only $5 million). Sales for both multi-state games are already in the crapper and it will be even worse for PB after their game change.

How many Mega Millions second tier winners in 2014?Reply
I agree Oklahoma has never had a Mega jackpot winner and since the Matrix change we have not had a second tier winner I believe our last second tier Mega winner was in 2012 when the jackpot was 640 million. People in Oklahoma play Powerball Hot Lotto since we do not have a state lotto jackpot game if we did I would play that before I played the multi-state games.

I got a reply from th SC lottery and they referred back to the Lucky for Life website. Guess they don't want us players to know the total results for some reason. VA lottery is in a multi-state Decades of Dollars game and they post total results on their website.

Thanks for the explanation. Now it makes sense why tickets will offer different multipliers - presumably, to better limit prize liability. Seems to me, lotteries are getting worried about the future of Powerball and Mega Millions. The per draw sales, even at the $100 million jackpot level, aren't all that great. Sales below a certain level make the games too risky to offer without changes, just as what happened with the failed Monopoly Millionaires Club game. To digress a bit, while PB MM are

Fact is most states don't need a multi-state game selling $5 tickets to offer a million dollar prize, they already have games with $1 tickets with larger prizes and better odds.
