$181 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot ramps up
I wish that the lottery choose one of my combinations as the winner to redistribute some taxes.
Lotteries represent redistribution of wealth at its finest.Lotteries know the geographical areas that will win the biggest prizes. That is the reason why quick picks win more jackpots than self picks.
The Connecticut asset managers combination was chosen as the winner in that geographical area. They won a $254M Powerball Jackpot with $1 Quick Pick Ticket.

It's a pity that at least 1 or 2 ea 3 of 5 weren't there. Sometimes it's hard to resist the temptation to play, especially with jackpots that high so I'm not surprised in the least that you decided to give it a try.
Have a great time with your family.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Excellent post Stack, also thought your reply to RJ was excellent. You make a great case for consistently playing your numbers. Even though it proved to be more effort than you wanted to continue making you did have a chance at hitting the $100k all the time you were playing.
Which also helps my point that the timing needs to be right when we make a play at a big win. I have won more than my share of slot jackpots and it always happens in the first 5 minutes.
Whatever game I play, if I don

Lottery pools good or bad?
You seem to be yet another LP poster who hasn't researched his subject but decide to post and just make up some facts.
First, most lottery jackpots are won by individuals and second, there once were laws allowing only one person to collect on a winning ticket even when the ticket was brought by a group which made paying the taxes a real head ache for the winners but a lawyer's dream. It has only been in the last ten years or so that states changed their laws to allow groups to claim winning t

Just heard Lottery Preys on the Poor
I am in total agreement with you Littleoldlady--it seems lately it is getting very hard to win the P3/P4 games in CA--I also cut down on the amount I've been playing lately because it is getting so hard to win the large jackpots. I box my numbers on P4 to try to win a little something but I haven't been successful so far. For example, I've played 152/Straight-P3 Mid-Day Evening for over two years and it has yet to hit. It is so obvious that they are now controlling on how the numbers are generat

Can It Be Done??
What about the possibility of accurately predicting ALL games for ALL states, including UK National, B.C., Atlantic Canada, and Western Canada ALL in one day? I'm talking about ALL pick 2, 3, 4, and 10 games. ALL Cash 5, Treasure Hunt, Quinto, PB and MM games.
You apparently didn't read the question. Anybody can predict 1000 pick-3 combos, 10,000 pick 4 combos, 575,757 combos in a 5/39 pick-5 matrix, and all the possible Lotto, PB, MM, etc. games.
If the question was can anyone pick the

MM jackpot $47M/$36.1M and PB jackpot $50M/$33.3
If you want to compare PB and MM jackpot amounts and increases, you can only compare the cash values. As everyone SHOULD know, the annuity jackpot estimate is calculated based on the cash that is estimated to be on-hand. Since PB and MM have different annuity lengths (29 vs. 25 years) and different payout increments (annually-increasing vs. fixed year-to-year), it is not valid to compare the annuity jackpot amounts as a raw number. Only the cash values can be compared as raw numbers.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
According to the couple, it wasn't a flaw but a well advertised scheme to encourage big spenders to buy more tickets which they did.
Besides, they had gone to the lottery office several times before to collect their winnings and was congratulated by lottery officials who knew how they were winning.
Remember, they weren't the first big spenders to win a lottery jackpot. Back in the eighties a foreign investment group won the Virgina lottery by buying all the possible combinations and afterwa

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Not so fast mc,
Im waiting for you to follow through on I should call my lottery office to propose that scenario, to see if that's even doable?
After that Im planning on hitting 5 of 5 a few times right here before I start dropping $100k on each drawing. Besides Im think it will take about 5 years to hit a JP and @ $100k per drawing I am talking about a $51 million proposition.
But what did the Lottery think was going to start happening once they created $640 million dollar Jackpots th

Alot of MM winners in CA
I'm running with scissors even as we speak.
We are one wild and crazy state.
But, yeah, the ginormous population is the main reason. Although, the cost of living (as it is in NY) is absurdly high here. You have to win three jackpots a year just to pay the mortgage.
