How much do you play per drawing?
I usually play the jackpot amount once it passes 300 million. So 300 tickets for a 300 million pot. Since I don't play unless it's that much I don't have to worry about it. When it hits the 200 level I might spend 5-20 dollars but if I miss the drawing no big loss. I figure it's like a 2 pack a day habit since I don't smoke. I used to spend more on the local Washington and Oregon lotteries but the jackpots have been low lately and since they switched to computerized drawings I don't bother buyin

Sign the petition - eliminate computerized drawings!
i am studying computer science in college... the fact that a program can be tampered with or told to do other than is suppose to could change the game... they could create a computer program to give a random three digit number, thats ez. the fact that they can use there own rules and regulations on the program that no one will know about is the bs... with real balls u see what u get, its probably more exciting and the fact that there is so many regulations they have to follow to make sure these

Amazing, you sit there and can't handle the other side of the coin. Not only that but you flame, as the admin??? You know nothing about reality, b/c in reality you will never win this battle...welcome to the computer age...Stop Whining And Accept...Like I said before, I have no preference in how the lottery is played but you must understand that you can't base this entire petition on security issues or randomless flaws with a computer...the exact same exists in using real balls. And real bal

cash vs. annuity
As with your comments on computerized drawings, your comment shows limited knowledge about how things work. No, the lotteries don't make any more money when a winner selects annuity. If anything, a bank would benefit from the use of the invested lottery prize money. The lottery itself does not gain any interest or other benefit when the prize money is invested. If anything, it gives them more overhead costs, because they have to cut checks to the winner every year, and maintain long-term recor

Give Balls A Chance
Think about it. Balls don't typically determine a whole lot in life, but computers do. The most 1 diameter balls do is determine olympic ping-pong tournaments. Computers on the other hand determine your fate in much bigger ways. Every time you fly a commercial airliner, or ride certain subways (MARTA, DC Metro, BART, etc.), you put your life in the hands of a computer. So that's just one more resons to ditch computerized drawings, computers already do a lot. Let the balls do something important

Washington going computerized
Quote: Originally posted by dvdiva on April 13, 2005Well I don't think the states will change their minds. I find it strange that the same comany is involved with all of them. Seems like a large potential for a scam. Think I will just stick with mega and powerball then. Can't see the pick 3/4 crowd not being more upset at this though. Even Powerball is thinking of going computerized though, and I bet if Powerball goes through with it, Mega Millions will follow. Soon you're going to have to pla

My Lastest reply from the Hoosier lottery
That statement (by the Hoosier Lottery) is insane. They want you to see their advanced equipment? Well, Jim695 has already reported that it's a couple of creaky old PCs using a random number generator downloaded off the Internet. I wonder if that's the rigorous procedures they're talking about.Saying that ball machines are more prone to error is rediculously stupid. Everyone knows that computers crash all the time, and that humans are involved in computerized drawings as well. In fact, I

Texas Computerized Drawings
OkI'm for computerized drawings but I don't like the machine - ball or computerized manipulation. In Texas I have played all the games since they began and all I am seeing is ball result manipulation by machine and ball rotation in pretest draws. My picks usually come out in the predraws in Tx pick 3 it the first or second predaw if they hit at all.The majority of lottery jackpots are won on quick picks maybe because most people buy quick picks? I'm not for quick picks but I like buying a few so

Texas Computerized Drawings
lol...thanks, Orangeman. Yes, they need to be 'skinned'.Well, as Todd said, the subject of computerized drawings has been discussed in the past, and it seems that everyone is against it...save a few. I imagine if you did a search on it, you'd probably find something. Personally, I wasn't looking for that. I already knew that most members don't want it. I simply wanted to see how the Texans felt about what's fixin' to happen to us. That's all. At the time I did the poll, I really didn't think

Texas Computerized Drawings
Quote: Originally posted by Todd on January 31, 2005 It doesn't sound like you read my message. You're still stuck on the just Texans thing, which is not what Lottery Post is about. I encourage everyone, not just Texans, to express how they feel about Texas going to computerized drawings. That's my line...There are threads all the time, which narrow down to 1 state or 1 person, or 1 workout or 1 whatever. Until the thing came along, nobody cared about a state that they didn't play in ( meaning
