$825 MILLION: Powerball jackpot raised due to surging ticket sales
I recognize all the words but I'm not sure what you said. Does I don't think a billion if no one hits this draw mean you think it won't reach a billion, or you think it will go well beyond a billion and set a new record?
The other day I said I figured it would probably reach a billion if it rolls from 850, but after thinking about it I'm not so sure because the next drawing is on a Monday. I didn't check every Monday drawing since they started, but I did check all of them when the jackpot wa

Joe, even though I'm now living in Florida (I'm a transplant from New York) I can tell you it's a thing that players in New York often play the previous draws numbers all the time, and they have been doing it for years. Personally I always thought doing so was as crazy as those that played 1 2 3 4 5. What happened this past Thursday was exactly what will happen if 1 2 3 4 5 is ever drawn. I cant imagine winning a jackpot (which is so very hard to do) and likely will not ever happen again for the

Why are lump sum jackpot payouts shrinking?
One observation I have noticed with Powerball, is the overall weekly increase with rollovers is the same with the 3rd drawing added in. The increase in jackpot from Saturday to Monday is always a good bit less than the increase from Wednesday to Saturday. Adding, in the 3rd drawing was just a cash grab to increase revenues without actually increasing the jackpot over a weekly time period. So even though you have more drawings, it does not correspond to a higher jackpot relative to the two drawin

Quickpicks: Lottery terminal vs Lottery Post
What I did was accessed the Lottery Post quick pick on my phone and filled it in on a play slip along with a random pick from the terminal. I played them side by side with every drawing. What I was trying to determine if another method of picking numbers was better than a terminal quick pick.
Playing them side by side allowed me to compare how each one matched against a drawing. Maybe running multiple picks per drawing side by side might be interesting, but that costs $$$.
Right now I'm

Playing Quick Picks Versus Picking Your Own Numbers
You said NoBoDy single-handedly spendz THAT amount ov dough in a reply to Thrifty saying he was going to purchase 1000 lottery tickets . And I gave an example of someone buying more than a 1000 tickets proving one person did in fact purchase at least 1000 tickets regardless of the where they got the money.
There are several other examples of one person spending large amounts of money on one lottery drawing. Jerry Selbee probably wagered more than $10,000 on one drawing in both Michigan and M

North Carolina Unlimited $$
Me too!
Funny story....
I was in my early 20's and went to a nightclub in Charlotte with a bunch of co-workers. They were drawing for a trip to Jamaica sponsored by Red Dog beer that night. I filled out a drawing slip, but there was a long line to put the slip in the box, so I handed my slip to some stranger in line and asked them to drop it in for me. A little later that evening I see my co-worker Trish, come flying off the dance floor, she grabbed my arm, which was holding my MaiTai, and

Lucky winner says he is familiar with second chances
By Kate Northrop
A North Carolina Veteran says he has had his fair share of second chances in life, but a $1 million lottery prize from a second-chance drawing is the most recent stroke of luck he's had.
Joe Mathews of Raleigh is not only thankful for the $1 million second-chance prize he won from a scratch-off, but it's also a reminder of the good things he has going for him in life.
I believe in second chance, Mathews told
