1 jackpot game down 3 to go.
Yep RJOH is correct you can follow my progress thru the prediction board. My powerball predictions are the only ones I am backing with real cash. My powerball predictions have stunk so far this year but I have faith. I tracked daily jackpot games taking upto 6 months before they started hitting with big hts coming in the 6th month, so with Powerball only played twice a week it could be upto 18 months or June of 2012 before I start seeing any hits. So that is my drop dead date June 30, 2012 to hi

Question about a lottery scenario.
The PA game rules for Powerball indicate a fixed $200,000 2nd tier prize, with the possibility of multiplying it up to $1M if you buy the $2 Powerplay ticket.
So, to me, it looks possible for the Jackpot to end up less than the 2nd prize.
I didn't read all the fine print, but I agree with RJOh that the lotteries would probably not pay more than the parimutel amount for the jackpots.

Decades of Dollars
Ohio once had a game called Lot'O Play. Its tickets were $2 a line and you usually won nothing and its best day was its last day when they got rid of all the prize money with larger payouts for the lower tiers winners if no one won the jackpot. I bought 5 lines and because there wasn't a jackpot winner I won $40 or so.
If they had payouts like that all along, I would have played more. Now we have Classic Lotto and I still don't win much but it's a 6/49 game which I understand and it's only a

In the jackpot forum, butch2030 came up with 50 lines that had he played them since Ohio Classic Lotto first started he would had spent $35K, won 4 jackpots for $37.8M and $80K in other prizes.
He was suggesting there might still be a winner left in them and could help some Ohio players. He's posting them on the prediction board to see what happens.
I've alway thought it was easier to know what you could have done to win after the drawings than it is to know what you should do to win befo

$200M Powerball lottery jackpot won by N.Y. Costco workers

For the group I am currently in, that means playing Mega Millions and Powerball when the jackpot is $200 million or higher. The jackpots get that large often enough for me.
Let's just say that one or more other people hit the same night your group does. Then waht?
You can never assune a solo win. Most wins go to one ticket, sure, but you can't assume that if you or your group hit that would be the case.

$200M Powerball lottery jackpot won by N.Y. Costco workers
OldSchoolPa,
The main reason for playing the lottery is to win enough money to make a life style change. And for that reason, I play when the jackpot is large. Winning a couple of grand is not life changing. Winning a couple of millions is. So when it comes to group play, a good strategy is to play when the jackpot is large enough so each member of the group wins enough to make it life changing. Which leads to the most important strategy and that is match the number of the members in the grou

$200M Powerball lottery jackpot won by N.Y. Costco workers
Clarification....I lumped CA in with my discussion of Indie and NY winning the Mega and Powerball jackpots...of course, CA only offers Mega but it seems as though if it isn't CA, NY, or Indie winning Mega Millions, then it is NY and Indie winning Powerball. Sure, Washington, North Carolina, Texas, Oklahoma, Jersey, and Idaho get in the mix to break the streak. And I noticed that when a certain NBA player took his talents to South Beach, that cold state stopped winning the Mega Millions! South Be

I never thought it took much imagination to be a critic of anything until I read let's pretend we're vampires and play the same 10 numbers in every drawing for the next 1000 years .
Most lottery players and those who actually understand REAL lottery play assumes nobody would chase jackpots making substantial bets for over 10 years unless they made a profit or played at a greatly reduced cost. You offered a couple of examples of actual lottery play where you played 15 and 12 lines. Had you pl

Lottery Groups
I run 3 lottery pools made up of current and former co-workers, family, friends, and even a couple of people from Lottery Post. Every week, I play QP's for the game that has the biggest jackpot; when both MM and PB have large jackpots, I buy tickets for both instead of purchasing the bonus play. I run another little pool that plays whenever a jackpot gets high. Since all of us are ready to quit our jobs, or at least go part time at them, the definition of high is less than it used to be.
