Pa. Gov. defends lottery privatization exploration
If privatizing the Pennsylvania Lottery's management isn't the answer to ensuring reliable and predictable funding for programs for older Pennsylvanians, what is?
That's the question that a spokesman for Gov. Tom Corbett raised in responding to state Treasurer Rob McCord call on Monday to pull the plug on the administration's lottery private management agreement (PMA) pursuit.
Our need is outpacing our ability to fund those programs, said Corbett press secretary Jay Pagni. The PMA is a ve

Maryland $189M Mega Millions winner claims prize
Chooses to remain anonymous
The winner of Maryland's $189 million Mega Millions jackpot is no longer a mystery, although their identity remains so.
The Maryland Lottery announced Friday that the winner has come forward and has chosen to remain anonymous. He hid his ticket in an unplugged lamp for over a week until driving through pouring rain Friday to claim his prize at Lottery headquarters on Friday.
The Anne Arundel County man won the second largest jackpot in Maryland's history, off

Lottery Scammers Out in Full Force
The past couple of weeks has seen a significant increase in email and phone scammers including many that use the You Have Won the Lottery scams. The lottery you supposedly have won may be your own state lottery, an overseas lottery, or a non-existent lottery you have never heard of.
These scams usually ask for upfront money to pay taxes and fees or bank account and personal information to transfer the funds to you .
Some of the scammers will also send you an official looking check to

Wisconsin lottery auditors don't like branded scratch games
The Wisconsin Lottery is raking in record profits and that in turn benefits taxpayers.
That was a key selling point when the lottery was approved, that some of the gambling sales would go to reduce property taxes.
But state auditors think taxpayers could benefit even more.
If you have an itch to play the lottery, the Wisconsin Lottery has a dizzying array of games to choose from. But the state's audit bureau says games requiring a licensing fee are not a good gamble for the state.

Major Lottery Post security upgrade
OK, so today Lottery Post had a big security upgrade. It is something I have literally been working on for months, and today I finally made the cutover to the new security system.
This upgrade was extremely important, in the following respects:
It enforces stricter passwords that are case-sensitive, and for the security-conscious can now be up to 200 characters in length. These types of passwords are great if you use a password manager (for example, LastPass) that generates random passwor

Michigan Lottery puts Internet ticket sales on hold
The Michigan Lottery is indefinitely halting plans to sell tickets and offer games on the Internet after skeptical lawmakers blocked funding to launch an online lottery in early 2014.
Plans for an iLottery system have been suspended so that the Lottery may further evaluate the program, lottery spokeswoman Andi Brancato told The Associated Press Tuesday, declining further comment.
Gov. Rick Snyder asked for nearly $3.4 million in the next state budget to implement the iLottery as a way to

what is the most you ever won on a daily 3 pick game?
Stack47,
Knowing math and knowing how to apply the math are two different things and based on your record on LP, you don't know how to apply the math.
Making a statement like this does not make it true. My technical posts here would be accepted by all the professional mathematicians and computer scientists I know as theoretically sound. I witnessed them laugh out loud at a few of yours that I showed them. You have demonstrated a basic knowledge of probability and statistics but a pro

I am done buying MM & PB tickets and balls are rigged IMHO...
Thank you Ronnie, that was a long time ago.
I'm beginning to like myself more and more.
Where is the old boy? Did he ever come back? Or win?
Topnail/toenail might be right here on this thread and we wouldn't know it.
Heck....he might live in FL and gone and won himself the nice, big, record PB JP!
Reminds me....lucky loser was a part of that old thread you linked there...another old boy but
he wasn't playing with a full deck...wasn't bright enough either to keep the crap going.
