If you want to claim jackpot anonymously, how do you sign the back of the ticket?
Thanks again everyone for your responses! Well, I looked at Wisconsin's website and this is what is says about being anonymous: Can a winner remain anonymous? Not in the true sense of the word. Wisconsin has what is called an open records law. In short, virtually any piece of information state government produces or controls is available to any organization or person requesting. The statutes are specific however, in determining what individual information may be subject to this la

Indiana Powerball lottery winners likely to remain anonymous
The winners of a $57.6 million Powerball prize have collected their money without ever showing their faces. Lottery officials say the identities of people who split the Nov. 22 Powerball jackpot may never be made public. A lawyer and an accountant representing SWS Investments, LLC, a group of between eight and 13 people , collected the winnings Tuesday at Hoosier Lottery headquarters in Indianapolis. Why the sudden concern with anonymity ?
You need to do more research on where you can play PB and remain anonymous: All but three states (DE, KS, ND) have laws that require the lottery to release the name and city of residence to anyone who asks. And who on earth cares who I am, or who anyone else is ? ... I know what you are trying to get at: if I'm so gung-ho on not remaining anonymous, then why am I anonymous on here...... nice try, but you are comparing apples to oranges. If the rules on LP were that a person HAD to use

The thesaurus remark was finny, still is. I'm nomiating that for the funniest post, along with one of my own posts! (no rules yet that say we can't!) in the E! TV Curse of the Lottery thread in News: I want to congratulate everyone here for not introducing any sock puppets into a 10 page thread ...all things considered....at the time, I didn't know people had different page viess (number of pages) so I'll add to the above; Considering a thread of this nature. I can't find

Food for thought regarding anonymity....
Wouldn't it be nice if all of the rules on each state site were clearer? I like the FAQ plain simple like on this site. I googled some words like anonymous, lottery winner, and got 17. Is it possible to win the lottery and remain anonymous? No. In Montana, by law, your name, the amount won, and the town you're from is public information. It is not possible to win the Lottery in Montana and remain anonymous. This was from an official website. Sounds clear to me, but who knows? Wish

Bill would allow N.C. lottery winners to remain anonymous
Lottery players in North Carolina who win big money in the games from a Powerball jackpot to a $600 scratch-off ticket win can't keep it a secret. State law says the names of lottery winners and what they won are public information. But a House bill set for a hearing Wednesday would change that, requiring confidentiality unless the winners consent to having their information released. The bill's sponsor, Rep. Darren Jackson of Wake County, said he's concerned current technology makes it
