Now if the states had not suspended sales of these # 's possibly even more people may have won. Is the reason for suspending the sale simply the fact the state lottery didn't have the $, or didn't want to have to pay out that much money? Most likely the sole reason for suspending sales is for state budgetary reasons i.e. the financial integrity . If that is not the case, then what are they afraid of? I would think the publicity of a large payout would only increase sales. Isn't that what happen

How would you design a game so more people win?
Perhaps a better way to do it would be something like PB's bonus pool. At some point money that would normally go to the jackpot would be put in the 2nd place prize pool instead. It could even be done in such a way that for jackpots beyond a certain size the 2nd place prize could pay the same as the jackpot, with something left over to put in the next drawing.
That might actually be a workable game. Not having the enormous jackpot would eliminate the enormous sales that go with it, but having

Post Your Winning Tickets Here
I noted it was not a QP, because people think that only QP pay the Jackpots. The numbers I won it with was a combination I was playing for a while and finally paid off. I spent $9.00 that evening.
So dont give up on your numbers. You never know they might just fall.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL !!!!!
What a Positive Thread.

What's with NY Sweet Million??
I havent given up on SM. I still play it. Matter of fact, I've been in both of this weeks drawings since last Saturday.
So what if most New Yorker's think there should be more jackpots won than there actually are! That doesnt change the fact that 3,838,380 to 1 odds are the best chance to win a million dollars just about anywhere.
Does anyone readng this think the folks who have already won a million bucks playing SM really care what most other New Yorker's think about SM? That's was rheto

Statistics around the balance of even/odd and small/big numbers
Years ago I downloaded a free wheeling program and had lots of fun trying to filter all the possible combos in a 5/39 game down to a playable size. when I got it down to about 9000 combos and add one more filter, I'd get 0 combs and an error code saying I used conflicting filters. The lowest I ever got was about 3500 combos which is not my idea of a playable size.
As for systems that actually work, a co-worker of mine keyed on three numbers and played them with ten other numbers for $5. He ha

Idaho woman claims 2nd half of $380M Mega Millions jackpot
PERDUE,
Considering some of the threads here on LP about exes being granted shares of jackpots, I don't think it would matter if a person was completely out of a relationship or not.
Isn't there a thread in the news about someone who had been divorced for 10 years surfacing, asking for half of a jackpot, and getting it?

Statistics around the balance of even/odd and small/big numbers
From quite a few discussions on this board, especially in Systems and Mathematics, quite a few people care greatly about these things. My point is knowing odds or evens, highs or lows, etc... ad nauseam doesn't tell you what specific numbers are going to hit. And that's what jackpots pay off on, five for five, six for six, five for five on the top matrix and the right Mega or Powerball number on the bottom matrix.
EXACTLY!
Don would agree too!

How to choose lotto numbers
You didn't provide any raw data on your 15% but Coin Toss' Illinois Lil Lotto data proves the opposite; more QPs are sold and more QPs win those jackpots
And from the Powerball website:
About 70% to 80% of purchases are computer picks. About 70% to 80% of winners are computer picks. Perhaps just one of those weird coincidences?
These statistics are based over time and on probability. The same it true if 70% to 80% of the tickets are purchased in highly populated areas, 70% to 80% of the

Buy scratcher at one store, redeem at another?
I am new to CA Lottery Scratchers, played some and read the rules. They say take the winning ticket to ANY retailer.
But is this just a bad thing to do: Buy scratcher at one store, redeem at another?
I spread around my buying between different stores and different days. I don't know all the ins and outs of how the stores get paid, all I read is that they get a take on the jackpots. But not sure about the little $500 amounts. How do they make money off of that payout?
