Do some number combinations have better odds?
I wonder if Todd plays the lottery. I guess that he buys multiple lines whenever he plays. We had a heated argument about buying multiple lines.
I stated that buying more tickets does not increase your odds of winning. Todd tried to argue his points against me and coin toss.It was not fun at all.

Playing The Lottery More Often For More Lines= Spending More Money= Gambling Addiction.
Thrifty, I actually agree with the title of your topic. With a game containing as many combinations as PB or MM's, it would be senseless to increase tickets purchased no matter how many numbers are matched on any given draw, or, at any point. True that, buddy!

Possible proof Washington state lottery is rigged
Ok, a stupid question since I don't know anything about the Washington lottery:
Did they change the matrix, increase the amount of numbers somewhere along the line?

How many winning numbers do you usually get on your QP
There is a way to do this magic trick
Yet you have to stop believing that your luck will remain the same everytime you play. You have to understand that one day your luck will change and the QP will give you more than 3 winning numers on a ticket, no one can keep having the same bad luck time after time, life doesnt work that way. Everything works in the you win some you lose some rule.
He never said that the 3 numbers he got were the same as the 3 numbers on the the other line
Im sayin

Post your scratch ticket results
Thats unfortunate. I used to dabble in Powerball before the price increase. hit $100 a few times but nothing more. seems like i was losing most of the time. best ever was on Fla lotto. got 75 tickets once - played multiples of the same combos. hit 3 of 6 11 times and 4 of 6 4 times. 4 of 6 was a tad under $100 back then if i remember right. i know someone who hit 5 of 6 3 times in a 10 year span. one guy from a publix i frequent hit $4 million, but he was spending $1000 a week on tickets for man

Considering the discussions about where jackpots are won...
The shotgun approach applies whenever you buy more than a single line quick pick or self pick. Buying multiple lines is cool if you increase your chances of winning without spending extra money.
They are having a promotion in new York of buying a $10 powerball ticket to get a $2 free ticket. I received my $2 free ticket after spending $10 for a ticket. I will have to win $100 to have a positive return on my powerball ticket. Spending more than $2 puts in a negative return unless you win at

$305 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot in rare territory
Oops, my bad. I was using the numbers from the 2/17 draw (the last $300m+ drawing) for my calculation. You are right here. The only thing is assuming the next rollover increase would be 30% since the last was only about 19%. I'd venture to guess that it's likely to be more than 19%, but the rollover increases have been a lot lower since the $2 ticket came into affect.
Good catch Floyd.
