if mm and pb roll 1 more time we have 2 semi-large jackpots for the 31st Multi-state boom growth
I'm wondering about that, too. I don't know if it's rolled yet, but in the drawing video John Crow said it would go to 168 if there's no winner, which, as you said, is a normal increase. Maybe they don't yet know how to model the expected ticket sales and increases in jackpots, since the circumstances are quite different. Having both games expand this much, and competing in the same states, is different from adding one state where only that game is played. I'll be interested in whether the jackp

N.M. family claims $3.5M Hot Lotto jackpot
A retired couple from Ruidoso, New Mexico, and their two daughters from Austin, Texas claimed a $3.54 million Hot Lotto jackpot Monday. The winners are Bill and Janet Swann and daughters Lisa Swann and Stacey Swann. They elected to take the prize in a cash payment of $2.24 million rather than the annuity option of 30 payments over 29 years. Bill Swann purchased five tickets about eight hours before the Jan. 16 drawing. He went to bed a winner, but didn't know it until the next day when he

Which situation would you prefer?
NUMBER 2. Now the question is, how would they do that? If the jackpot is 20 million, would they draw 20 numbers. Do you think any state would go for it? And would the jackpot ever really grow? There's another benefit, being just a million dollars, people might not go as crazy as they have in the past with multi-million dollar jackpots.

Poll: If they took: 80% of your 200mill Windfall for a teen lotto will you do it: Proving a point
Pumpi, Experienced players are not going to trust any free lotto. In the U.S. anyway, it would be illegal to have a teen lotto, free or otherwise. The government takes far too much from jackpots as is.

Please Put yourself in My Shoes: Playing Politics with Powerball..
you know what will happen if someone can win Powerball...What if they send that system to 5 million people....Then everyday powerball will be a: $25 dollar jackpot because they will be SO MANY WINNERS...So what used to be a 2 million memmber game is not a 25,000 members playing that game....Remember People play powerball because of the higher jackpots...But if they see that the Jackpot is only: $25 dollars they will not want to play and the game will be force to shut down...This cant happen just

Actually, the probability of $300 M jackpots in MM is slightly higher with new states.
Using pure numbers, the average jackpot will be the same. Just more more hits more often. As this writer points out, as coverage goes up, so do sales, so does coverage, and so on. More sales means more coverage and more hits, but is also means higher jackpots. One of those magical reciprocity things. But there is an unknown. Where humans are involved, you can't use pure numbers. No one can predict exactly what will happen with four jackpot draws per week. You have to start over with sales ex

Dual multi-state lottery sales may keep jackpots lower
I believe the first tickets will be somewhat of a collectors item. I also tend to think more people will play powerball over mega millions should the jackpots reset at the same time. This is because Powerball has power play. Just for an extra dollar and you can increase winnings 5 times? Mega millions will be the slow coach unless...

Powerball is coming to Georgia
I'm up watching the news due to the crazy weather. Saw a commercial stating that Powerball is coming to Georgia. First draw is January 22nd. Georgia will have both games. Mega Millions and Powerball. Which I think will be cool. Now folks won't have to cross state lines to play when the jackpots grow in size. It's my understanding South Carolina will be getting Mega Millions. I never paid attention to powerball much before, but will begin to do so.

Shouldnt the Lottery have Insurance against systems...
Each state that has lottery generates between: $500 million to 1 billion dollars per year on the lotto with some exceptions as Florida, California, etc..How many states have lottery? 39, 43, whatever...You are going to tell me nobody could chip in: 10 million a 1 time payment...43 states x 10 million = 430 million...Place it in the bank at: 5% or whatever (anyways the state can get higher earned interests) and the 21.5 million coming every year, save it for whenever there is someone with a syste
