No $200M lottery jackpot for Christmas
Last night was cold so I decided against going to the store to get me some quick picks.
I do have season tickets for mega millions so my hopes were on only that one ticket. I ended up winning $2 for getting the megaball 13.
I could have sworn that somebody from NY would win. States that win include Ohio, Virginia, NJ, NY and California.
Followed closely by Georgia and Michigan. These others MA, WA, IL, MD, TX just work to contribute to the jackpots lol.

A Lottery Delema--Winfall or just fall?
Good point.
I have thought about how I would handle winning a large (millions) jackpot. How I would tell my brother, how I might help him. How I would protect myself and my family. How I would have to change how me and my family would live. Most people probably fantasize winning millions but really don't think very deeply about it. They just think about quitting jobs they hate and buying stuff.
I really just want some financial security. That's why I play even when the jackpots are not ver

mega fixed
It's hard to reach a realistic conclusion when you're starting with faulty factual information. Over the past two years the MM jackpot has been higher than $100 million 11 times. 5 times the jackpot has been won before reaching $200 million. Of those 5 times, one was $196 million and the other 4 were $135 million or less. That's well short of always going to at least $200 million.
In 6 of those 11 times the jackpot has been won at something over $200 million. 4 of those 6 were won at the firs

POLL: Lotterey players, the wealthy
Great point ... they may consider won money 'free money' they didn't have to work hard for.
Also believe rich people play for the challenge ... they're accustomed to winning when it comes to money and they want to see how well they can outsmart lottery odds. It's all a game they maintain a sense of fun playing.
Any person poor or rich with a dollar and a dream can win jackpots as many times as they can come up with the matching numbers.

When To Play The Lottery
I play nomatter what the size. The only time I MAY not play would be if someone had won the jackpot two days before and it goes back to the original amount. But not becuase of the small amoung but becuase I doubt if California will allow two jackpots in a row. I've seen Fantasy Five win more than two or even three times in a row but never Super Lotto. Im not sure if any state has ever allowed it. But I could be wrong. I look at Florida and texas every once in a while (not sure why) and can't rec

All Things Considered, Which Is The Better Game - PB or MM?
MM is better. Jackpots grow faster. Odds are lower.
Only thing PB is better is that it starts higher and if you powerplay and get 5+0 you automatically win a million. You don't in MM.
Also, forgot that Tx is the only state with MM megaplier. I play that every time. But it pays $500K, $750K, or $1M depending on the megaplier number drawn. So PB would be a little better in that regard.

All Things Considered, Which Is The Better Game - PB or MM?
The REAL question should be, Which would you PLAY? to which I would respond, a TRUE Cash 5 game with a number field NO BIGGER than 30-39 numbers!
Yes, I KNOW it would not pay out MILLIONS, but I'd settle for 3-5 Cash 5 jackpots a year from $50k to $600k than suffer the loss of all those dollars (for decades) from only having a 1 in 173,000,000 chance winning what in actuality is TWO lotteries in ONE!
Always tell the truth-- that will astonish some and gratify the rest. Pres. Harry S.

beginner: i want to learn!
Hey psykomo,
They have their own lottery in Canada. Ontario is rated A+ by Todd's Lottery Report Card - all true lottery drawings, no computer draws, why would he want to play here? Besides, anybody in any country who plays our lotteries puts in much more than they take out, meaning bigger jackpots for us.
You do have to watch them though. Every time I order chips up there they give me french fries.

Have you ever won off of the Quick Picks here?
When you say I like to see how accurate it is, you are making a statement that is the exact opposite of what a true RNG hopes to accomplish. A good RNG, like the one at LP, is completely independent from any outside force or data, so it does not aim to be accurate in any way.
It should be used for times when you want truly random numbers.
Overall, the lotteries state that quick picks win about 70% of all jackpots, but that doesn't make them more accurate -- they are played more often.

Will you put $10.00 or $20.00 on a number Strait?
Most pick-3 games have fixed payoffs so the players determine how much they want to win . I've always played multiple straight just because when I win more when I hit and have played and hit for over $20 on one straight number. Had $22 on 310 several years ago after making a nice hit on a football parlay.
From some of the polls on LP, it looks like many people play $10, $20, or more when the MM or PB jackpots are huge and I doubt any of them are counting on winning the jackpot or getting thei
